Skout Blown HP Evo reg.

I feel your pain. I really liked my Epoch and didn’t have issues. Got the Evo and had constant HP reg issues. Skout was very responsive, but several part replacements later and it still never improved. They eventually paid to have it returned and sent back.
I have never wanted to like a rifle more than this one, but as you said, it is frustrating. I gave up. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything I want and trust to spend that much money again. Not sure where I am going next.
Smok3Y, I am mirroring your pain. My HP reg leaks at right around the set point - filling or shooting down to this level. I contacted Skout last week, but it has been crickets so far. I have changed out the orings several times. It seems like, when I turn the reg a bit, the leak goes away. Unfortunately, that messes with the tune.

I also had a problem with the SubMOA barrel - very poor machining with large scratches in the lead area and had a choke at the end (see other posts). They re-polished the barrel lead, cut 1" off the end to remove what appeared to be a choke, and re-polished the barrel. It is better than before - at least I can reliably hit a 8.5" piece of paper at 100 yards now, but still not what I need for benchrest competitions. I can see the pellet start to spiral around 80 to 90 yards - not big, but enough to give poor accuracy.

At this point, I think that I will move on to a different platform to see if I can do better. I might try a 30 cal RAW with an extra plenum.

had a similar experience while testing a friends Sub Moa barrel, but was told that it should have never left the factory as is ...
Seems like a lot did ☹️

I'm sorry to find this out. I was hoping to use my EVO in a match on Saturday and maybe might still if mine will hold air after I put the replacement parts in this morning. If that goes well I'll start working on my dope for Saturday. If not,???!!!!!.
Nope the new parts didn't work, it still leaks.

I changed out orings sk-ou9003 & sk-ou9012 per a member recomendation to Buna 90s and mine seems to be working well now.
Those two plus the -009 X ring to replace SK-OU9009, and the brass spacer to replaced the sintered metal “filter” should make this HP reg fully functional and reliable.

Just go with a newer Taipan and enjoy!

Taipan is the Miata of the airgun world. 🤣 Hopefully the Slash continues that legacy.

I get frustrated when I'm shooting and something malfunctions, but I also really enjoy working on my guns. It's a balance in my head. If you don't like to work on/maintain your guns, maybe a Skout isn't the right one for you. They are constantly developing a solution to all problems, and they will get you the parts at no cost. The customer service from Skout is the best I've had in ANY industry.
