FX DRS Custom Wood Stock Development.

Wow you do some really nice work. Personally I would ditch the forend finger grooves and go with either a rounded or angled section instead. Less machine time and I think it looks so much cleaner that way, finger grooves never fit anyway.

ETA: I would also trim the top edge of the forend to a rearward angle, and give the forend less taper like a Manners stock. The rear stock angle could also be stretched out further to allow better fit on rear bag, and give finer elevation adjustment.
Thanks. Always a million design options to consider for all kinds of shooting styles.

Side one roughed out.

I have been real busy with another project to add some more capabilities to the shop, so the FX DRS stock has been sitting in the work que. I have some time to day to do some work on it. I cut the butt to length and installed brass thread insert to attach the recoil pad. I then sanded it to a point that I was ready to raise the grain before final sanding. Here is what it looked like wet with water. I am so wanting to get oil on this one.

That looks really good, especially the curly maple skunk stripe, reminds me of a Fender guitar neck. Are you planning to maybe market or sell custom versions? I’d be interested in one with a couple of small variations. The addition of a Burled end cap and grip bottom, and a little more palm swell in the grip for a right hand shooter. But overall, pretty sweet. I’m anxious to see your finished project.

Its realy nice indeed :D just a question, would it be and option to make a hole for the hammer adjuster and reg so you dont have to take it out.
The hammer spring adjuster will be a tough one. I do not have a way to bore a hole, and to cut a slot through the top will really guy the rear of the stock. Will have to think on it a bit. The regulator will be a challenge too for the same reasons.
