Is there a definitive answer, or is it just user preference like most things in this world?
For folks like Avator the answer will always be ->NO, because he knows what he needs/wants .
For folks that know what they want and do the proper due diligence, the answer can be mostly YES.

For folks that are new to air gunning and don't really understand what they want, the answer can be Yes, but be careful
.... as it can easily turn to NO.

That's where AGN members can help .... people sharing the pro's/con's of airguns - you have to listen to members who think ..... and use airguns as you would.

I think that for 95% of people the answer is no. Most people just won’t shoot enough to make them worth the money. The situation is actually way worse when it comes to powder burners though. There are gun safes across the country full of $1500+ guns that have only been fired a handful of times and never properly sighted in. At least when it comes to airguns they usually do get fired a little bit since they can be used in so many more areas.

If you do happen to be part of that 5% that actually does shoot a lot, then they probably are worth it to you. You can’t take it with you and if you can afford it you may as well do what you enjoy to the fullest.

I've been looking at .30 cal to take down some of the yote population I hunt at along with other pests (groundhogs mostly). And I'm really on the fence about what gun to get. I'm really thinking of getting an FX Maverick VP, seems to fill in everything I would want. Short, great aftermarket support, slug shooter, isn't super heavy, accurate (from what I heard), and more then enough power for me. But the price is a lot to take. I'm really worried about buyer remorse.

I've had 3 PCP rifles now, all under a grand (Avenge-X, Notos, and an AEA Element Max). And I have been happy with them. Are +1k guns really worth it? For that matter are +2k guns worth it? You guys/gals that bought these higher end guns, do you feel you got your money worth?
Nope in my personal opinion, I explained why in the following thread…

That is not what the poll suggests. That is if you use the poll as a scale.

Yeah, but the question is being asked on an enthusiasts forum. It’s like asking bicycle racers if a $10,000 bike is worth it. Sure, it is to them, but to the other 99.99% it’s not.

I agree, but the poll is not for the normies out there. The poll was asked on an enthusiasts forum looking for enthusiast's opinion. If you asked if a bicycle was worth $10k here, you would likely get a no from most people on the forms. But why would you be asking about bicycles here? It's like asking a plumber to do electrical work for you.

I'm sure that almost everyone I talk to will think I'm crazy for buying an airgun that cost +1k, likely even the ones that are into guns (with guichi AR safe princesses) will likely think that. They are likely to say $200 is too much for an airgun. But those people are probably thinking about a springer that they had when they where 5 and have close to zero experience with modern PCP guns.

Completely agree, i have buddies with $2k kimbers that they never shoot and i outshoot them with a RIA all the same. If only airguns worked the same. A nice trigger, good magazines and lightweight you have to pay for.

I didnt say accuracy. If you like that pcp, that is great, I do not myself., it also lacks a good magazine, nice trigger and being lightweight.
