Airgun Technologies Uragan 2 valve housing

Hi All,

i just had a frustrating experience with my Uragan 2, which suddenly developed a a valve leak after only about 2500 shots. Wanting to continue my shooting session, I opened it up and suspected that the 6x1 o-ring in the valve housing, which is specified as nbr 90, may be the issue. I replaced this with one of the same dimensions, but much softer at nbr 70 (which is all I had to hand - unfortunately the AGT re-seal kit doesn't include that o-ring). Could this cause issues down the line? So far, the valve leak seems to have stopped and my consistency is as good as new, but am worried about what issues the softer o-ring may cause later on.

Many thanks in advance for any input.

Without going into detail, if a manufacturer wants a 90 in a certain place, that’s what you use. They don’t deform as quick as a 70. But I have done exactly what you did to get back to shooting or tuning. But I placed an order for a 90 and got it in there when they arrived. I have a 70 in a reg as I type this and need to swap it out for a 90 I picked up last week. Gun has been fine, but it’s on borrowed time.

The O-ring you replaced is exposed to constant friction of the valve during its operation, which is why nbr90 is used in such places, but I would do the same in your situation and everyone does. We use what is in our stock. Wait with the replacement to the right one until the review or as long as the one that is now installed can withstand.
I always try to start the equipment only when necessary to expose bolted connections as little as possible.

Acquire the necessary o rings for your platform BEFORE an issue arises. This will eliminate stress, and yes, we’ve all been there. It’s a cheap insurance policy. Good fortune my man.
Many thanks! I hear you about obtaining all o-rings in advance. It's just a pity they don't include every o-ring in a reseal kit, bearing in mind the cost of these guns.

Thanks for the input! Gives me some comfort. I contacted AGN who are very responsive, so should hopefully get that sorted soon.

That's great to know, thank you. I guess I'm just a bit paranoid about catastrophic failure while I await a replacement o-ring. Contacted AGN for a full valve system and extra o-rings (just to have to hand) and they're very responsive .
