2.5 oz C02 fill solution? For home?

So I got a Daisy 887 and 888 for my kids to start out 4h 10 meter and silhouettes. They use a 2.5 oz mini cylinder. I know I can get these filled at a paintball shop.

I own my own business and work real odd hours so im trying to figure out what it would take to fill them at home. I can get a C02 bottle from the local gas supplier. I know I have to either invert them or get one with a snorkle tube. I learned on another thread here that the Daisy part number 5861 (which is no longer available). Is the adapter needed but I should be able to cludge something together with parts available. What I don’t know is what attachments I need to get the bulk CO2 connected to my adapted tank and regulate that. Can anyone give me guidance here?

ok.. I am not familiar with that gun but I have had bulk fill guns. you don't regulate it, you basically just have a adapter that screws onto the tank and hooks to the gun.. mine didn't even have a bleeder to remove the pressure from the adapter after filling the gun..
so if you can find the pieces to make a assembly to hook from the gun to the tank.. your good..
just easier to get a tank with a dip tube but like you said, you can also turn it upside down..
your working with around 800 PSI liquid CO2 so just make sure your fittings are rated for the pressure.. also be careful because like when disconnecting from the tank any liquid CO2 in the line will freeze burn you..

I have a 887. I took my 2 to a shop to have filled. I believe they put them on a scale and fill them x amount of ounces. I'm not sure how you could do that yourself. Maybe look for a place open when you are not working, give them to another shooter and have them filled
Sweet. How do you like your 887

Perfect. I love dangerous stuff. I’ll watch it on the cold and wear leather gloves thanks for the heads up. Also I’ll get one with a dip tube. Thanks for the heads up.

I like it a lot although I shoot my 753S much more. I got my 887 on discount at Champions Choice right as they were being discontinued. Now I live in rural Oregon and I don't think I have a local place to fill the cylinders anymore. When did you get yours?

Do you mean the guns? I got one this week from AOA and one from eBay. We are new to this. Or do you mean the CO2 fill equipment? I haven’t gotten it yet but will. I have two kids competing now and two more that will be old enough in a year and a half.

Yes, sorry, I meant the guns. How long ago did you get second one? Which one came from AoA, I'm guessing it was used?
Although I wouldn't mind getting a tank so I can refill the 2.5 oz cylinders myself. The 887 hasn't been shot in a while, I do have 2 full cylinders I filled in Texas before I moved. But seeing as I don't have a sure way to refill them, and I have that SSP 753S, they have been sitting in my guitar gun case

So I got both of them in the last week. I called my local welding supply and a #20 tank with dip tube was $67 dollars to lease for the year and $35 every time I swapped it out. Which I figure will be once a year. Which means I just need the paintball CO2 fill/regulator and a scale. 💪🏼

It probably seems excessive to go to this trouble to shoot with my kids at the house but I can’t even fill my truck for a hundred bucks and if it saves me two hours time getting em filled. To me this pays for itself the first time I need to fill a tank.
