Why put a gauge on the plenum?

You answered your own question in the first paragraph. If you don’t ever plan to change the factory tune then I suppose the gauge really isn’t needed although if the velocity starts to get funky the gauge could tell you if it’s the reg that’s the problem.

I for damn sure want a gauge for my regulated pressure, but tank gauge i could be without CUZ i never look at it, my pressure gauge is the one on my fill kit i use to shoot tethered.

On the FX guns made the last years, there is no other way to adjust the regs, than to do it on the gun itself. So it is not just an convenience, but also a nessesity.

It seems like FX development is moving backwards, air cylinder is getting smaller, reg. creep keeps going, less gauges...

My two rgulated M-Rods are plenum pressure only. I have a gauges on my bottle, on my pumps and on my buddy bottle so I know what my fill pressure is from those. I can see when the rifle comes off the regulator with the plenum gauge and it helps me keep track of and verify my regulator setting.

i use it for tuning purposes it tells me how much air 1 shot takes in bar.
can raise pressure in increments vs guessing between lines
also, can see if you have reg creep record shot count for that session
Fx Keller gauge bought new used for 80.00 couldn't pass and glad i didn't good data.
