FWB The 10 meter SSP pistol still exists

I bought a never used Hill pump from a member on the classifieds here and it arrived today. I figured if my ancient Shoebox ever dies I can at least shoot my 10 meter PCP pistol and rifle. My P8x was right at 125 bar and I swear it was at 200 bar with no sweat whatsoever in less than 2 minutes and the pump wasn’t even warm. The point of this post is we are all lamenting the passing of the SSP and it kind of still exists, you just carry the pump in the other hand. When I have more time I will put 50 shots down range and count the pumps to bring it back to 200 bar. I bet it’s less than one stroke per shot.

looking forward to this info as i have a Morini 162EI

Just Finished the 50 shot test. Starting at 200 bar the P8x only used about 40 bar for those 50 shots. Considering the regulator pressure on these runs close to CO2 pressure this gun should make 120 shots on a cylinder. The Hill MK5 took 27 strokes including filling the hose and matching cylinder pressure to bring it back to 200 bar. That’s close to 2 shots per stroke. The effort was extremely low and took very little time. The SSP is dead, long live the 1/2SP! That might be overstated but it does make discounted used PCPs a better buy than paying twice the original price for a twenty year old SSP to avoid buying a compressor.

OH i didn't buy the 46 to save pumping air . I bought it for the pleasure of shooting this fine pistol .

I may have to break down and get one of those Hill pumps along with a good pcp pistol. Currently I have a HW75 which I find rather difficult to cock and charge a couple of IZH 46m which are a dream to shoot and several Daisy 747 and777 models.
A cheap China one off Amazon is what most people are buying . and for a pistol it should last , look up "how to hand pump a PCP " you mostly use body weight and pump slowly ! Even pulling the handle up Slowly .
Pumping faster is what kills a pump Pumping a larger container , not letting the pump cool , kills the pump . You can get rebuild kits .
Best thing to do is top off your air don't shoot down to the bottom . I have the same pump for 10 years now , Hill brand , but i only pump my pistol Morini .
Stan in KY . .
