500.00 new in the box air rifle from CT. to Wi. 92.75! Yea our Brothers and Sisters working high stress dangerous jobs are worth every penny. UPS NOT SO MUCH!
If the shipper is going through the UPS Store and having them package it up I can see that kind of price...
Or if the shipper used a 3rd party brick and mortar store (one of those independent shipping shyster's) I can see that price as well

Direct through UPS, shipper boxes and prints his own label off the UPS site, or Pirate, there is No way it costs that much.. unless the box is 10 feet long and 8 feet wide....

I ship 1200 to 1500 packages a year through UPS, including guns , trust me there is some slim shady stuff going on in your deal....

*** EDIT ***
The Only way it would be that much is if he shipped it 1 day or maybe 2day.....

I shipped a Sheridan in a box cut to size to Arizona by Pirate Ship. It was $70. I did not separate the stock. It was shipped back in 2 pieces for $19. Did not expect that much difference.
Last month I bought a FWB 602 from a member here located in Hawaii. His original estimate from USPS was $90+. He checked and had a friend with pirate ship get a price and print a label and it got shipped USPS for $45. It was disassembled , stock from action so it would be a shorter package, but still the way he packed it was huge, box about 4 feet long and about 1 foot square, with a lot of foam and bubble wrap. Got here in 6 days.

I shipped the working part to David Slade, E Texas to Tennessee via Fed Ex per Davids Recommendation and it cost right at $40 for that. He said he has consistently had problems with deliveries from UPS and USPS, so went with his recommendation even though it cost more. It got there in 3 days.

Bought a FWB 602 from a member here a few months back. His first estimate from Hawaii to E Texas was eighty something dollars, then contacted a friend with a pirate ship account and it shipped for about half that.

When I ship I take it to a local Going Postal store and they look up most economical, fastest and best way. I have been shipping some to David Slade in south central Tennessee and he said there were consistant problems with UPS deliveries there, and the best was Fed Ex, so even though a bit more expensive I went with his recommendation. To date no problems with packages getting misdelivered there as he said was fairly common with UPS there.

I completely agree with @Gerry52 on trying to reduce the LENGTH of your shipment
The longer te box, the more expensive it will cost to ship

FYI- Pirate ship is NOT a shipping company...they are a management company
they do not have any long distance logistics and rely on UPS and USPS to take the package 99% of the way.
i do not think it will last being cheap ...it's like when everyone was on 1 netflix account ..they will eventually shut it down if they see them making to much of a profit off of them. ..imo
