I made the adjustments as you described. But unfortunately I end up with higher speeds in 1/2/3. It's totally inconsistent and incomprehensible, I absolutely don't understand the problem I'm having.
You are getting too much air.
Ok, then 1. you are getting higher pressure on your #2 than indicated,. #2 you have a messed up spring #3 a heavier hammer or......This is going to be fun, for me not for you but it's not too bad. You're getting more pressure than the spring can handle,. #1 make sure your barrel is on the pellet port, it doesn't matter that much but let's do the check list. Give that a fast test, while the soda straw is out, make sure everything is snug, just a bit more than hand tight, no need to torque the daylights out of it. When putting the shroud on its hand tight but this is another accuracy point. If it's still not playing well, let's take out the HSA, watch out there is a little ball bearing that loves to try to run for it. Take off the dial over a nice soft towel. Pull the adjuster make sure it's ok, FX has the over all at 19.3mm, if you are below this then it's really going to be interesting , pull the spring, check the hammer to make sure it's nice and free. Personally, I'd drop the trigger (WARNING: There is a little spring in there, under tension it tries to escape, I put a towel over it and push out the pin..just in case it tries to run for it) and pull out the hammer and make sure it's not marred and the inside of the bore it rides in is good, give the hammer a light coat of light synthetic and reassemble. There is a good video by Ernest Rowe on the trigger (
). A bit of synthetic on all moving parts will make it smooth. Oh you might want to weigh the hammer, just in case FX didn't put in the right one, can't imagine THAT happening /s. Lube and reassemble, put a dab of grease on the hole that the little bearing goes in, holds it in place, put a bit of grease on the inside of the adjuster, assemble it vertically to keep that little ball bearing in place, it's spring loaded and it's going to try to escape, At this point it 'should' work, Also for giggles drop your #2 pressure down more say 80bar. And start testing.
I've gone through all of this on my Mavericks, I can say that in the end it's well worth it, Your trigger will be like a lovely French butter, the gun will be very consistent on it's SD. My motto is if it moves it gets a bit of synthetic, my personal favorite is Mobile 1 but, any should work fine. I love synthetic because it's slippery, very slippery. I'll also use Tri-Flow but NOT in a high pressure area.
