Ahhhhhhhm, THAT will do it to you every time and no, not stupid just inexperienced.* Personally, I'd still add some lube to the hammer and trigger, you can add the lube from the outside after removing the spring, just a few drops around it, it'll work in.
* I f'd my new Tequila gun by trying to open the cocking lever the wrong way direction, we all have made mistakes.

I have just down to 110 bars , perfect at 930 fps with 16grn pellets at pw7 , I shot maximum 50 meters.
