Yeah I was surprised as well when I figured that I’m locked at 135ish. Then looked into it and found a bunch of others who also reported to be maxed out with stock hammer anywhere between 130 to 140b… not a big deal and a gram or two more hammer will solve, just something to consider…
It’s quite simple. 700mm vs 500mm. They are completely different animals.

My 700 topped out with factory hammer around 135 bar too. I out a tungsten hammer in it and it's a little too much for the 150 I needed to run.

Interesting… I’ll get an opinion from UA and see what they say too. If anything ill have to sell my pellet shooter .25 Maverick and replace it with the M4. This way I’ll get a bullpup, 1 reg, and the quick tune system. Lol.
Wait till you see how much easier a mav hammer change is compared to an impact.

I just got my M4 600mm in the mail yesterday, I have the reg set at 115 macro @16 and micro on 4 and I am pushing the Zan 26s slug @965 and the FX 34 grn pellet at 876 in .25 cal I get 85 shots on a 250 bar fill. I am keeping everything stock at this point. The gun shoots great, the pellet groups are really tight sub MOA at 50 and 75 yards and .35 inches at 25 center to center, the slugs I need to spend more time with, I am not sure if the tune isn't right or they are finicky to the hold.

Fair enough. Didn’t expect them to put different hammer/spring in there but it would kind of make sense :)
It’s not about a 500mm having a different hammer or spring. We don’t have to push a projectile down a 700mm barrel. If you put a 500mm barrel on your gun right now, 135b will no longer be your tuning max. It will be 150b.

Hmmm I don’t understand that tbh… if the plenum pressure is too high so that the current hammer/spring can’t open the valve anymore, what does the barrel length change?! Or are you saying that higher back-pressure out of the longer barrel will close balanced valve faster?! Would have thought that the barrel length would have that much of an impact on that but could be, happy to learn something new…

I shot my 0.177 M3 stock with the exception of the grip and butt for two seasons then it got knocked over at a Field Target event by an individual pushing a gun cart through and around those waiting to shoot.

It was a very lite hit and my POA/POI was not affected.

I mounted a K&L top rail to protect the barrel system from future accidental hits.

I'm either looking to buy new or used. From launch date to now, were there any changes in the Impact M4 that I should be worried about? In example, early versions of the Umarex Notos, it did not have a degassing grub screw. New versions of the Notos now has the degassing grub screw.

Lastly, tell me why you either hate the M4 or love it. Looking for pros and cons. Main goal is to hunt small game with it. When small game isn't in season, plinking.
Love it. Beaucoup power and great accuracy with pellets and slugs . Deadly beyond 150 yds !

Can you post photos of your groups?

Here are 2 of the groups at 25 yards, .25 876fps 34grain FX pellet. Shot one was at 50 yards almost no wind and 74 degrees.
Photo 1 & 2 were a 10 shot groups
photo 3 was a 5 shot group

Looking good. If they open up at 75-100 yards, weigh the pellets and put them in different weight categories before you start twisting knobs.
@85 they stayed under 3/4inchs, I probably could have gotten it a little tighter but I have all of the excuses, plastic folding table, sun in my eyes (no sunshade) LOL, that glare was a little rough oh and I was running the pellets fresh from the tin! I am going to take the power up a little and see how it does. I sort my pellets for my Maverick 25.39s (25.2-29, 25.3-39, 25.4-49, 25.5-59, 25.6-69) outside those ranges they go into a not shooting them tin.

Well it sounds like you can’t resist twisting knobs and turning screws. But I don’t think it will shoot much better than it’s shooting now. At 85 yards, 3/4” is no joke with pellets straight out the tin.

There lays the problem, you get sub to MOA groups but think "I know I can do better" lol. Lots to factor in day to day and even hour to hour when shooting groups.

I don't mind learning the gun, I don't always mess with the knobs, I have a Maverick that all I did was turn the barrel over to the slug port and got the extra power I was looking for with the pellet I am using. I found the desired speed out of the M4 using the 34gr pellets I wanted. I am new to the PCP world and don't mind tinkering a little to learn the guns I am using.
