Rob, have you tried PC-Petrifier? Its safe to use (acrylic product, water clean up) and really firms up punky wood.

I have not... I knew of 'a' product for such, but I dont recall the name of it. For smaller pieces, I have a vac chamber and can stabilize wood, but this piece was way too large. Will check out that name though... thank you, sir!

look for a large Canning pressure cooker ,garage sale . turn it into a vac chamber ?

Well done! I really like those two previous bowls just because of the amazing wood. It’s like finding hidden treasure in woodturning. I enjoy a small Delta MIDI lathe to turn on.

The square bowl was the last project I turned. The other bowl was the first bowl my 11 year old son Sean turned. He really loves wood turning now.

Really nice bowl work Rob! Question on the top pic with the three nested bowls. Did you core those? I'm looking for a coring tool, but most of the ones I've seen are big bucks.
