We've made a little progress here. Most of the downed trees have been taken care of. Most of the rest is up to me. The chainsaw only has an 18" bar and a few of these trees are over 30" through, so it will be fun! Local firewood prices have taken a HUGE dive.
We do have power, gas and internet. So there's that. Potable water is somewhere in the future, though.

Denmark dont have that big winds, or that is some times we have big storms, and some forrest areas can be flattened to a degree.
Also get a tree across a road now and then, but i have never seen this personally and we have been known to venture out into " extreme " weather when authorities advise against doing just that.
O i forgot, once in a forrest we did come across a pretty big Oak that had fallen, we hooked our two 4 X 4 cars up for a double pull and pulled it a few 100 M down the paved road in the forrest, just to mess with the people that found it in the morning.
The reason forrests get flattened here now and then is, its not really forrests but plantations, if you look at Denmark from a satellite, you will fine lines of trees in many green areas of the country, this is CUZ we also wiped that out a long time ago.
Biggest problem for us is probably flooding after heavy rain fall, some places are showing weakness in this regard, and clearly things have to be beefed up to cope with future events.
It is not houses floating down the river ASO CUZ we barely have a river here big enough to float a shed let alone a house, also very few wood houses here, so that aint going to float.
But flooded houses - basements and so on, also all the idiots that have build a house / summerhouse right at the waters edge.
The town of Vejle here have been flooded in places 2 times this year, 2 feet of water will still ruin a lot of stuff.
Earlier this year apparently someone tried to fell roadside trees onto cars driving past,,,, i kid you not.
Also in the past weeks, someone have felled / stolen road side trees in a area of the country,,,,, and OK firewood is not cheap but come on, how the hell you you get away with 30 or so trees some 3 feet in diameter.
