Crosman Pellets sticking in loading breech of Crossman 140

Maybe you have a buildup of grime or some lead. Try running a cleaning rod through the barrel.

Beeman Weihrauch HW30S($4.40) for less than a McDonalds Happy Meal($5.69)

Amazing job Wadcutter. You got all that work done in less than a month too! I bet it's worth a lot more than a Happy Meal now.

    Practice

I try to hold still. Sometimes I start getting tired and try to hard and that throws me off. I know you can't hold perfectly still. I expect to be moving a little.

Bedrock Bob, that is interesting because sometimes I also shoot better standing up than when I'm kneeling with my elbow resting on my knee. I always figured I should be shooting better with one arm supported than with no arms supported. At least now I know I'm not the only one.

    Practice

I also practice with an HW95 that has a Williams peep sight. Mine is a .22. I shoot off hand at distances from 10 meters to 50 yards. I typically shoot standing, kneeling, sitting on the ground, and sitting on my hunting stool. I also shoot the same positions with my scoped HW95.

Which would you prefer and why?

I've always preferred the heavier weight projectiles for any given caliber. The heavier pellet will hit harder and penetrate better than a lighter one. Also a heavier projectile retains its velocity down range better than a lighter one of the same caliber. This is mainly an advantage at longer...

    Airgun ownership.

My mechanical abilities are limited but I've been able to maintain and repair the air guns that I own. I've replaced broken springs and piston seals, resealed air guns and have done clean and lube servicing on my own. It's a lot easier and more satisfying than having to box them up and send...

Crosman to cut 100's of jobs

Are the Crosman Primier Hollow Point pellets made at the N.Y plant? I'm wondering if their line of pellets are going to be dicontinued.

    Hades Monster

Looks like a good size chunk of lead. I'm guessing your going to be shooting them out of a PCP. I think they would be fun to test in one of my springers. I also wonder what type of velocity I could get out of my 2240 CO2 pistol.

    Tuning Red dot on pistol

Your a better instinctive shooter than me. Beyond 8 yards I need the sights. My red dot sight also has to be turned on manually but they have electronic sights today that come on automatically when you grip the pistol. My air pistol is just a back yard toy so I don't worry about it much. I also...

    Best and Worst Cheap Pellets

I know what you mean. I did not have good luck with the Crosman pointed pellets either. Fortunately I tried the CPHPs first and knew they were good. Definitely give them a try. Yes those P17s are great shooters and not pellet picky.

    Best and Worst Cheap Pellets

The worst and the cheapest pellets I ever had were the Daisy wad cutters and pointed pellets (.177). They would not shoot well in anything I have except for my Beeman P17 pistol. The best cheap pellets I've used are the Crosman Primier hollow points in both .22 and .177.

    Indoor pistol/carbine/BB gun range

I've used carpet and it works fine. I prefer old bed sheets of blankets in my pellet trap. The sheets and blankets stop the pellets before they reach the duct seal that I use as backing.

    Shooting Crosseyed

I tried shooting with both eyes open for a couple of years with both scope and iron sights with both rifle and pistol. I was able to do it but was always more comfortable shooting with one eye closed. With both eyes open I always felt like I was straining to hard so I've gone back to using one eye.

Sorry to hear that but you certainly have an amazing rifle collection. I'm glad that you can enjoy those.

    Other Pistol shooting

How does she hit anything holding the pistol up in the air like that? I thought it had to be laying on a sand bag. The gun doesn't even have a scope.

    HW/Weihrauch The Whooper - HW77

That rifle is a real beauty. As far as the accuracy goes have you checked the barrel crown?
