I returned that filter immediately once I saw it had the wrong fitting. The one with the red cap on the end. I didn't want to mess with finding the right fitting.

Sucks you got a lemon too. At least you'll get your money back and have a compressor to play with. It still works, just not sure how long it will last.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

When I insisted on a return/refund they had the nerve to insult me. I shouldn't post their last response, but I can't help it. Get out your popcorn.... The iphone reference was icing on the cake! From GX: Hello we said it is not defective. in other words, you returned to us to repair, we...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

That is unfortunate, but that is what I thought GX would say. I haven't checked the water temp with the temp sensor disconnected. I will do that when I fill my bottle up next time. Did you use paypal to pay through the GX website? I submitted a dispute, printed the entire email conversation...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Sounds like you got a hot unit like I did. Contact GX (email) and maybe they will send you a different video on the CS4-I. If no resolution, submit a paypal or CC dispute. I was able to restart the unit after power cycling. I hope you can get it to run again after letting the unit cool down...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

The video is to test temp and pressure. They told me to just disconnect the temp sensor. I think they use that video for troubleshooting multiple issues.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Update: After a long email exchange with GX with no acceptable resolution, I filed a PayPal dispute and included all email traffic. The seller never responded to PayPal so I got a full refund. Now I guess I can try all of the cooling tips everyone provided.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

The motor doesn't sound like it is working too hard. I'll try and flush the radiator. The converter? The power supply? It is a S-650-13. Unfortunately, I had to open up a paypal dispute

Plug/deadhead test: Cold 0 to 300 bar: 24 seconds Hot 0 to 300 bar: 24 seconds (coolant water at 150.8 deg F) Fill from 220 bar to 300 bar in 46 minutes. Unit does not stop running prematurely after disconnecting the temperature sensor. I'm still not happy with this halfhearted 'fix' from GX.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Garage is around 75 deg F. I'm measuring the water in the reservoir with an instant read thermometer. I tried another thermometer as well with the same result. I just disconnected the sensor. Running it now to see what happens.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

After further clarification, this is not going well. They state "i mean disconnect the temperature sensor, if it does not happen again, you don't need to connect it anymore, our factory is planning to cancel it." Requested exchange or return for refund. Response "it is not defective. pls test...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Just an update: GX is saying that it may be the temperature sensor. They sent me a youtube video showing someone disconnecting the temp sensor. I'm not sure disabling the temp sensor is the fix for this. I think we're having some language barriers but I hope to work this out with them soon.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Plan on it. Purged the grease, but not much came out after 2 hours. After 20 mins of use, the circulating water got to 151 deg F and the unit shutdown. I'm in communication with GX and we'll see what they say.

Starting the 2 hr purge of the grease per GX instructions. Video of purge, 2 seconds 104 deg F water without load.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

The start button turns off, and then the off button is activiated/illuminated. If I try to press start it doesn't do anything and the off button is still active. I turn the red power switch off, then back on and I can start it up again. I'm guessing its a latching type of overheat protection...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Normally you pull cooler outside air in and push/force it across the radiator. Like a car radiator. By pulling inside air across the radiator, you're actually heating the water up. Edit: Doing further searching, maybe it doesn't matter.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Ok, thought the fan orientation might be it. GX did email back. Outside of water recirculation issues which have been ruled out, too much grease may cause the overheating. I haven't turned the grease pot since receiving the unit about a week ago. They said to pull the burst disc fitting...

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Hello, There are no water circulation issues. I think the fan was installed backwards from the factory though and that is causing the overheating.

    GX CS4 Overheating issue

Is it normal for the fan to be blowing air out of the unit? I took the cover off and I think it should be pulling air into the unit and across the radiator. That is how radiators work. That may explain my overheating issue. The fan is always at 100% so its moving a lot of air and its fairly...
