Western Airguns Western Sidewinder likes and dislikes

This has to be one of the ugliest airguns I've ever seen... but when looking at it's construction I can't really find any flaws in it. I think it's the small airbottle at the front that makes it ugly to me. They could have used a larger tube tank instead but that's more form over function.

    Taipan My Vet is done

Alot lol I'm not sure. I don't usually check shots per fill. My guess would be close to 80-100 but I will see. I never shoot that much in a day. When pesting maybe 20 shots at most if I have the time. Usually just refill when I get home regardless of how much I shot. Shroud is not. It's off a...

Taipan Hopefully fixing my Taipan Veteran .25 leak with o-rings and Huma-Air regulator

I decided to try checking the barrel so I started filling until it got above 110 bar and put some soapy water on my finger tip and placed it over the end of the barrel. Sure enough, that's where it's coming from. I'm not a rifle expert so where do I look for that type of leak on a Taipan Veteran...

    Is this concept printable?

The important thing about the appearance of this muffler is that you like it, Mr.H. Or at least, can tolerate it. To me, the head looks fat at 2" in diameter. So, I have shaved 10.8 mm off the diameter to see what a 40 mm OD version would look like - below. How much would that loss in...

    Is this concept printable?

It looks like a piece of Delrin was machined to the I.D. of the shroud tube. That piece(sleeve) was machined to match the O.D. of the barrel. The shroud sleeves right on to the barrel. Very snug fit. Once the shroud mates with that "pinwheel" threaded insert, the barrel screws in place. I...

    Is this concept printable?

Mr.H, I have taken the dimensions given to do a quick layout. What I don't know I have assumed: Barrel OD: 15 mm Barrel threaded stud length: 10 mm Shroud tube ID: 29 mm (non threaded diameter) Air tank OD: 31 mm Barrel to air tank center distance: 33 mm (2 mm space between shroud tube and...

    Taipan Taipan Veterans setups

I feel the same way and now regret not getting a vet long. The construction of the original vet looked more solid, especially how beefy the scope rail attahced to the barrel and the air tube. The new frame looks more SPA-like to me.

    ROWDY TREED A FERAL CAT

AMEN on the nasty part, had a feral drop her litter in my garage, even day old kittens were all tooth and claw, they and momma went to the pound. Same time we had another female drop a litter in the garage, sweetest thing you'd ever meet, we kept her and all but one of her kittens all great...

How to prevent rust on airguns?

@Shinyknight It's a basic question and there's info in the threads on the topic. Personally if I know I won't use a gun for a while, I will first wipe off any sweat, water, or oils (from my hands and skin) with a clean rag. Next I will wipe the outside of the gun down with Ballistol oil while...
