    N/A I think I've reached a tipping point...

I’m 77 and cocking is indeed a challenge. I’m doing some shoulder exercises that are helping. As for loading, I’m using a pellet pen.

N/A Springers and how far above Sea level you are….

I’m wondering if the two squirrels I shot in the head at 3500 feet would be any more dead if I shot them at 1100 feet elevation.

    Confidence Builder

I received my HW97 about a week ago. During that time I’ve shot about 400 rounds at paper, cans and shotgun shells. In my practice I’ve adjusted the trigger down probably too much. I’ve spent many hours sighting in, first at 20, then 40 and finally settled on 35 yards. Most of my pests will be...

    Squirrel hunting 22lr vs pcp

I’m an ace shot with my .22LR, but with only two days on an HW97 most squirrels are safe. Just yesterday I had a ground squirrel at 25 yards sit and stare at me big, dumb and happy while I shot and reloaded four times. Eventually, I’ll be a squirrel killer, after I PRACTICE.

    Hatsan Hatsan Fever

Hatsan was my first springer I took delivery in September 2024. After five shots the cocking would not lock. I returned it that same day. Once burned twice shy. I now have an HW97 and am very satisfied.

    Dumb Ass Question

What is FPE? What do I need to measure it? How do I increase it? How much do I need? I am shooting an HW97, .22 with a 14.3 pellet. I’m sighted in at 40 yards and have a group of about 1.5 inches. My one goal is to kill pests, mainly ground squirrels. It seems the gun is less accurate on a sled...

New Gun, First Shots, Rookie Airgunner

I have seven oak trees circling the shooting side of my house, plus between these are various rock piles. The first shooting zone is at about 25 yards with several other zones at 50 & 75 yards. Dispersed between this are ten foot pine trees. In this area is an abundance of diggers, aka ground...

New Gun, First Shots, Rookie Airgunner

HW97 arrived about 1 pm. I was ready. Examined gun then ran a swatch thru the barrel. AOA had initially sighted it at 20 yards. On the bench the first two shots were dead center. I tried to calm my excitement. From there I shot groups at 10, 25. 30 and 35.Most all my shots were vertical dead...

    Where Do I Begin???

I like the idea of sitting on my deck, looking out to the forest, crawling with soon to be dead diggers and knocking them off at 50 yards. I just like the challenge of a top notch springer.

    Where Do I Begin???

Tomorrow my new gun arrives. Dealer mounted the scope and sighted it in at 22 yards. Where do you begin with a new gun? I was thinking of cleaning the barrel before the first shot. Then, getting used to the gun at 22 yards. Ultimately, I’ll need to resight to 40 yards. Any suggestions on how to...

    HW/Weihrauch Quality Springer observation.

Started with a Diana 350 twenty years ago. When a wildfire took our house I never replaced the RWS. Been using a high end 22 LR to control the ground squirrels, but with California ammo prices, plus extra tax and the background checks ive switched back to the air gun. Ordered a Weihrauch HW 97...
