Beeman Chief Orings - Exploded Parts View

Thanks for your reply Matt. I am looking for those bolt rings too. It’s hard to understand how reputable dealers continue to sell the guns since their is no source for parts or service!

Tuning Maximus loosing power with ample pressure

Thanks! It says the degassing tool is only for the Discovery so no wonder it doesn’t work on the Maximus. The literature that came with the tool when I bought it listed both models.

Tuning Maximus loosing power with ample pressure

Thanks guys! I need to find a schematic to understand how to remove the breach and understand the parts. I have worked on a lot of firearms but not air arms. I usually follow “if it’s not broke…”. I don’t think there is anything broke since when I put pressure on the hammer (?) with the...

Tuning Maximus loosing power with ample pressure

On two occasions my Maximus would barely get to the target (25 meters) after about 10 shots but still has about 1800 psi. I used my degassing tool thinking that I could deplete and pump it back up. It won’t de-gas. But! I removed the tool and was going to just shoot it to remove the air. Lo and...

Awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to help me understand all this! I got my chrono yesterday so now I will be able see just what is going on and work from there. My first shot string: Shot count: 14 shots Low: 603 Hi: 640 Avg: 624 Spread: 37 STD Dev: 13.3 I should have continued...

    Tuning Prod tune

I watched the video with tuning instructions and have read (and re-read) my manual but I am too ignorant to understand exactly what “fill pressure” means? Does higher fill pressure yield lower FPS? It looks like in all the adjustments on the video they always just turned 1 turn of the hammer...

Ok, I just wanted to make sure about the de-gasser. I got my first PCP just last November so this is mostly all new for me even though I have been working on and using firearms for about 60 years. I appreciate your help and encouragement!!! I live on a lake and I would love to hunt squirrels...

You make it sound easy! But I have never been inside one of these. About the only thing I could do is shoot the air out. BTW, why not use a de-gasser?

    That is a Maximus.

    Best $135 I ever spent!

Yes the Spike Camp model. No mods at all. Take the safety out, unscrew the one stock screw and swap right out. That was my concern since it’s for a Discovery but it fits perfectly.

    Best $135 I ever spent!

    It’s a Boyd’s (Spike Camp).

No, I haven’t weighed it, but it feels much better. Laminate stocks aren’t really that heavy. There is something that I can’t wrap my old mind around-the poi changed when I swapped stocks. Thankfully, I just made adjustments and it shooting better than ever.

My new stock came today, now for a new trigger 😉

    Best $135 I ever spent!

I would imagine that since the Disco has a wood stock there wouldn’t be enough improvement but a wider laminate instead of the toy like plastic stock on the Maximus on a rest or bags is going to help ME shoot more accurate. The best trigger in the world won’t overcome the deficiency in a wobbly...

No thanks, how long is that can? Kinda defeats the purpose of having a carbine. The shrouded barrel makes it plenty quiet. I don’t shoot in the house. Birds singing on my porch as I shoot targets let’s me know mine is quiet enough for hunting.
