What springer did you shoot today?

Shot an early 1990’s Weihrauch HW77 and a Haenel 303 Super (with factory peep sight). Just shooting paper targets on my indoor range, but it was fun to be able to make a single hole with five shots thru it!

What springer did you shoot today?

Shot my Anschutz 335. Just finished a complete rebuild. Honed the cylinder, new Maccari spring and synthetic seal. Moly on all the friction surfaces. Almagard 3752 on the spring. No twang at all, just “thunk”. New trigger spring and adjustments got it down to 1 lb. 9 oz. Chrono’d it at...

What springer did you shoot today?

FWB 601, FWB 300, Diana 75, Haenel 311, HW30K. I’m such a spoiled guy! The triggers on these things are nothing short of amazing. If I shoot a firearm anymore I have to wipe my trigger finger on my pants when I’m done. Firearm triggers rarely compare! Motorman Eastern MO

    HW/Weihrauch HW 97 Barrel Cleaning

For decades of spring piston airgun ownership I’ve made a habit of pushing a felt pellet down into the bore (from the breech) about 1/8”, filling it up with Ballistol, and gently pushing it thru the bore with either a wood dowel or a brass rod. Two or three of those followed by one dry one...

    Tuning HW50 177 & Vortex scope

Before you bend the barrel, try something simple, easy, and fully reversible. Take the scope out of the mounts and cut a piece of black (fabric) friction tape (NOT plastic electrical tape!) to exactly fit the bottom rear mount. Put it all back together. Use a torque wrench on the screws (both...

    N/A Pre-WWII Diana 48E

That's an impressive collection you have there!!! I'm moving slow on this to make sure I don't damage it. Yes, I have a proper Weaver screwdriver kit with about 60 different bits or various sizes and descriptions. The cocking lever is straight (no sculpting on the end), it only has the...

    N/A Pre-WWII Diana 48E

Keep in mind that this is .177 caliber. I ran it thru my chronograph and got an average of 796 FPS with 7 grain RWS Hobby pellets. I think it's a pretty powerful spring piston gun for around 1930 (when I estimate it was made). The ten-shot spread was 20 FPS, so it was fairly consistent, too...

    N/A Pre-WWII Diana 48E

I recently bought a pre-WWII Diana 48E. This is a .177 spring piston under lever gun, not a side lever like the post WWII model 48 / 52. The 48E is apparently a close copy of the BSA Standard air rifle from the early 1900’s. Mine appears to be produced about 1930. I’d like to disassembly...

Element Helix or Athlon Argos Gen 2?

The Helix requires you to have your eye in EXACTLY the right place…not 1/4’ too close or a 1/4” too far, not off to one side or the other. The “box” inside which your eye needs to be is very small. It’s a nice scope, but not forgiving about your eye placement.

    Diana 5G Surprise!

Milton, I've rebuilt two of the three 5G's that I have. I'm no great shakes as an airgun smith, but you will need a decent spring compressor. I very much like my 5G's...well worth fixing! Motorman St. Louis, MO
