Thank you all for your input. I've definitely noticed that sometimes I fail to close the cocking mechanism all the way and there is a click to let you know that its closed, but each time I didn't have it closed all the way the gun didn't fire until I closed it so I'm not sure if that's the issue.

That's interesting. In Brian at Edgun West's video showing how to take the gun down he specifically points out that he lubes the breach o-ring and this way it stays in place when putting the gun back together, but not sure I'd rely on his information given my dealings with him thus far.
