Is FX in a “civil war” ?

I don't like muddying the waters further, but your post's insinuation that FX deserves what's coming to them requires rebuttal. FX discontinued their relationship with AoA because they wanted a pure distribution center for their products. AoA is a distributor of many products and importer of...

    FX announcement of an announcement

Well that was a fun read. Some of you guys are very "intense." I really can't tell if you're serious. Seems like a comical disparity between the fun of the hobby and the intensity of opinions. 😯😊

Please rate my planned purchase set up

A dreamline with a SFP Helix is a five-star combo. No fuss. Just buy a mess of Hades, 18.1s, or 15.9s and off you go. Anything inside 75 yards is toast, and 100 yards is doable once you figure it all out. If you're looking for K.I.S.S., you are on the right track. 👍

    AirMaks Caiman

I, too, like the shorties. I own(ed) an Ataman BP17 and an Airmaks Caiman. You made the right choice. I just shoot Hades (.22) in mine. No slugs, as the power level doesn't make sense. Hades for the win. (y)

Please rate my planned purchase set up

Given your needs, the only suggestion I would make is to save yourself a bit of $$ and opt for a less-expensive scope. The Helix would do mighty fine on a dreamline and save you $1000. The Nexus makes sense if you need to see clearly at longer distance, but the Helix would do JUST fine, given...

    FX Wildcat MKIII Leaks

If it's leaking around the reg adjustment screw it is good news (easy fix). If the leak comes from the tiny hole facing the bottle/cylinder it's a PIA. As Keyman noted - two small o-rings on that reg screw may need replacing. That reg screw can back all the way out; there is no catch. You'll...

FX Wildcat 1st generation and slugs

My bobcat prefers 25.4gr Kings more than anything else. If you can get your paws on FX Kings give them a try. They outperformed JSB brand kings in my gun. And, as others stated, slugs don't fair all that well from ST barrels. Hybrids will group 2-3" at 100 yards. That's the best I've found...

    AirMarksman vs SaberTactical top rail

I have purchased that exact 90 deg pic rail. Also bought 45 deg pic rail and larger 90 deg pic rail from the same seller. They are all solid, given the price. I wouldn't mount a scope to them (😊), but they are more than adequate for accessories.

    AirMarksman vs SaberTactical top rail

I own both. I like both. The backbone is more robust. But, as mentioned by Bigragu, it slightly changes the check weld position (you'll need to press your cheek a little harder OR raise your scope 1/2" or so (I raised my scope). The Saber rail keeps your head in the same position (same cheek...

    Jumping to conclusions...

My only regret is that I can only “like” Lewis’ post once. This is a perfect story to end my day. Goodnight internet - I’m going to bed before you recommend another political article or road rage video. Thanks Lewis!!

    AirMarksman Backbone Rail Comments

I noticed the same. Your photos and measurements are spot on. I used 1/2" picatinny risers to compensate for what you've shown (taller scope rings would have the same effect). Very useful info for anyone thinking of buying one. Good on ya. 👍

    advice for new gun

Given your "don't want to buy" list, I would recommend a FX Crown (rifle) or AT Uragan (bullpup). WAY more solid choices than that, obviously. Just one man's opinion. 😎

    New Impact M3 slug setup

It will depend on the size of slug you'd like to shoot. Larger slugs (34+gr) almost always need a more aggressive barrel. But, many of the smaller slugs (20-25gr) do just fine in a regular Superior barrel. When it comes to slugs, it's like we are back to 2010 - you don't know what works until...

    What shooting does for you

I know this sounds a bit existential, but I love ballistics/shooting because it gives me a glimpse into the language of the universe. Being able to predictably and repeatably "fly" a tiny piece of metal to a tiny spot far away is just plain intoxicating to me.

    Self made M3 barrel support

Very cool. Those backbone rails open a wide door for innovation and tweaking. I like that your design can pivot at the screws - will allow it to also work on the 30MOA rail. 👍

    Daisy Powerline 880

Your data lines up with my own. The Daisy 880, Crosman 766 (2100) and Sheridan Bluestreak (Benjamin 392/397) are my three top recommendations for budget entry into the sport. I will always choose muti-pumpers over springers. Cuts way down on the learning curve and makes you consider each shot...

Shoutout to Chris Turek for this piece of work!

Agreed. He has also testified in front of Michigan's congress in advocation for air rifles to be used for more hunting platforms than just small game. Chris is definitely moving the needle.

    Fx crown barrel moderator

I have a strap wrench, but I prefer to use gloves with a rubberized grip (the tackier the better). I would take the barrel off and grab it firmly with both hands. That end-piece should not have any loctite on it, so it must just be friction. As douger mentioned, a little heat might also help.

    250 11x !!!

Target 10 is a 10? 😏 That would put the 50 yard competition with a BIGGER 10 ring than standard 100 yard comps. How to make your guns look good 101: raise your game or lower the bar?
