    Crosman 1701P 1/2-20 Threaded Adapter?

What's that? Speak up! Maybe I am going deaf or it is the carpeting and furniture downstairs that is muffling it. I have a 20 pound duct seal target box so no impact noise. I am remodeling the downstairs to tile so I am very interested in your review. The 1701p is a sweet pistol for the...

    N/A Lightened Piston

I have probably put three tins of pellets through my TX200 with the Vortek 12 fpe kit. It is one of my smoothest springers I have. Really likes the JSB/ AA 8.44 452's. I think Tom at Vortek nailed it with the stock piston.

    Crosman 1701P 1/2-20 Threaded Adapter?

@txaggie929 - In stock form the 1701p does not make enough noise to warrant a moderator. I shoot it all the time in my basement.

Daystate Uhh ooo did I make a mistake? Regulated vs non

Daystate has the Harper Patent valve system. My .30 Wolverine unregulated gets 20 shots per fill. Tony at Daystate said they did not need a regulator because of the valving. The rifle stacks pellets and likes the 55 gr NSA's. Take it out and shoot it, no knobs or wheels here. I fill it to...

Welcome to AGN! I will add my vote for the HW95 in .22. Great all around rifle with excellent iron sights. Buy some H&N Field Target Trophy .22 pellets in 553 headsize in bulk, you will need them. A Hawke 3-12x44 Airmax with a BKL one inch droop mount goes very well with HW95 and are under...

    Only 3 weeks,hooked

I had to put luggage tags on all my rifle cases. I spent half an hour looking for one last month. https://a.co/d/foGY0I7 Pistols are another matter all together…. I have lost count again. Considering taking a Sharpie to the cases but that seems…. permanent 😁

    Optisan Optics - CP 4-16X40

The CP's are doing well. No issues to report. My only complaint is the reticle is very fine. Sometimes hard to see in low light conditions. I used BKL 30 mm low mounts. I had planned on using the RWS droop mount but it would not fit on the scope. Very nice optic for the price. Very clean...

    N/A Tuning question

@Plinkalot - That is correct. I have my Ghost tuned to 750 fps (20 fpe) with 16 grain pellets. I get more 250 shots per fill and the rifle still shoots flat under 50 yards. One mil dot up gets me from 20 yards out to 30. 30 to 50 yards is dead on on and 75 is one mil dot down which is my max...

    N/A Tuning question

Also consider most pellets achieve the best accuracy around 850 - 890 feet per second. That is always a good place to start on a tune.

    Do You shoot Report Cards?

Wolverines are great rifles. I have the Hilite version. Stacks pellets and makes less noise than a mouse fart.

Nice shot. What distance and is that a regular flashlight?

Taipan Veteran I failure to fire

@Ironworksarmory - Welcome to AGN and the PCP rabbit hole. PCP's are pretty easy to work on once you degass them and verify the rifle is unloaded and on safe. Youtube is your friend, lot's of good videos out there. The Taipan Veteran has a bullet proof reputation. I have had mine for five...

    HW/Weihrauch 42 groups from 5 Weihrauchs.

Oh boy! This is one of those forever discussions Josiah! It really boils down to personal choice. I prefer .22 caliber but I still shoot a lot of .177's. The HW95 really does not have a bad caliber but .22 is the most common ammo.

    Budget scope for a R9..

Hello and welcome to AGN! All of these scopes would work well with a .177 rifle. JTS has a couple of budget friendly scopes also.

@Vicente_M_Costa - Hello and welcome to AGN. Great place with tons of information. I recommend a hand pump friendly PCP to start with. Something like a pistol or carbine with a small reservoir. The Umarex Notos or the Benjamin Prod are great examples to start with. Which ever model is...

What is the best rifle to shoot in a garage?

The best starter garage pistol is the P17 and some RWS Diabolo Basic wadcutters. Throw a pair of old jeans in a cardboard box, put a target up and see what's what. Whole setup is less than $50. The P17 has a decent trigger but care must be taken when cocking. The pistol can pinch a hand if...

What is a good budget friendly chronograph?

I started with the Caldwell because it came with all the accoutrements needed. The tripod is surprisingly robust and holds it in place well. Loves to catch arrows. Purchased an FX chronograph. Great idea, poor implementation. I must have dropped or banged it too many times. It now works...
