    Mythbusting Precision BR

There is not much you can do but try as many combinations of position as you can. I have 5 different front tops for my one piece and actually 6 different rear supports....plus multiple rear bags for the two piece. They are all different and finding the right combination can make a big...

    Scope leveler...

The easiest way is to shoot your apex which is usually around 25-36 yards....then shoot as close as your scope will allow. Let's say that's 10y. Zero the gun at the apex, then shoot on a vertical line at 10y. If you land on the vertical line at 10y...you're good. If you land to the right ...

    Resources WRABF/ERABSF vs N50

Tommy, I've shot lots of 100y cards in the old ebr thread and have submitted many tries in the "in the rings " challenge using pellets. The OP was comparing N50 to WRABF unlimited....but used the pellet class scoring for N50 as his basis. Pellets will likely never win another WRABF world...

    Mythbusting Precision BR

Even though the 10 ring spread in the N50 pro class is about 1 MOA....it will take a consistent 1/4 MOA gun or better to be competitive with the top shooters. Mike

    12fpe equipment check at Worlds.

The results of the scale and the chrono are what prompted him to adjust the gun. Mike

    12fpe equipment check at Worlds.

The Air Chrony is unfortunately the only approved chrono for use at Worlds. My personal experience with one was very brief... as it was quite unreliable compared to other known reliable chronos that I had. It was small and easy to use....that's why I was hopeful it would work well. As...

    12fpe equipment check at Worlds.

It's far more likely that the scale was the cause of the discrepancy....or the use of the scale by whoever was operating it. You cannot weigh pellets outdoors and expect to get accurate results if you are on a flimsy portable table. You must also close the cover and wait for a few seconds for...

Coltri MCH 6 Owners, get in here, this thread is for you!!

There are bad items that fall through the cracks in everything. I know lots of people that have them and have had no trouble. I like the compressor....and am hoping it will stay going for a long time more. Mike

RAW Rapid Polygon Vs Standard Rifling for Slugs??

LW polys are very good with slugs. The 1:17.7 twist is good with up to about a .430" long.

Coltri MCH 6 Owners, get in here, this thread is for you!!

The other thing that's worth mentioning is that the representative who finally agreed to replace the part told me to be super careful wrapping it up when I sent it back to them because if there was a scratch on it, I was going to be charged. I take this to mean that they are going to put that...

Coltri MCH 6 Owners, get in here, this thread is for you!!

There is no saying that vibration in your unit is due to the 4th stage. I suppose it could be from any of the stages. I'm mostly just saying that it shouldn't vibrate. Mike

Coltri MCH 6 Owners, get in here, this thread is for you!!

Here's some long term info about my Coltri MCH6 that some may find useful. @jarmstrong may find it particularly interesting. My Coltri has always vibrated badly from day one. I tried all kinds of rubber shims and things to settle it down. I was told by Nuvair to NOT worry about it. 90...

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

Scott...It's very contradictory to point out how the class has flourished and become the biggest and, therefore, most important....but then strip the credit from the very organization that created it and guided its success. If you start your own organization, then the vast number of Hunter...

    Supercharger water pump replaced

It sounds counterintuitive, but the low volume pump actually removes more heat from the water than a pump of greater volume. The measly pump is just what the system needs. Mike

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

Shooting from a bag is way different than shooting from sticks and a bucket. It's universally more difficult to learn to shoot from a bag...although many proficient in bucket shooting will disagree. I wonder what is the number of hunter shooters that are attending worlds with high hopes this...

I don't know anything about the saber tactical rest. I didn't even know there was such a thing. The bald eagles that I used had the windage cable thing removed replaced with a knob, and used a speed screw on the rear foot for fine adjustment. Mike

    Mythbusting Precision BR

I agree with almost everything you have said...with a few exceptions. Benchrest is absolutely about the machine. It's similar to heads up drag racing in a lot of ways. The human element involved in keeping a drag car at its peak is unbelievable at the high levels of racing. Could I shoot...

    Mythbusting Precision BR

Troy...I assumed you would see the smiley after my statement and see I was kidding. Just about any scope around 30 power or over is good enough for 50y BR as long as it's in good working order. I have a couple s2s....and although I prefer to look through my better scopes...the s2 doesn't cost...
