Depending on your eyes, it gets pretty difficult beyond 45 yds with ANY scope at 16x. It takes a lot of practice. Look for something small to focus on- a bolt, frayed string or knot, details on a clamp. I rarely range on the faceplate- it's usually something with texture on the hardware.

Good info! I'm using a 6 3/4" wheel, which gives me about 3/8" between 50 and 55 yd marks. Depending on lighting and fatigue I usually can range pretty well out to 50 yds. 50-55 can be a challenge with ANY scope at 16x. 300° of rotation from 10-55 with the Element is pretty impressive! I...
