Wafer (Necco Candy) Shooting Challenge - Any distance or caliber is OK

Colored food dye is your friend on the white ones. One drop should propagate enough to color most of it. I guess since you live where it’s like 70 in mid summer, 8 degrees is kinda like spring for you. 😁

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

I’ve got another power supply update coming as soon as I get a chance to work on it. After our ice storm over the weekend, I’m forced to become a heater repairman since one of my heaters decided it was time to quit. I can answer almost any question you have about Nordyne gas heaters now (I...

Wafer (Necco Candy) Shooting Challenge - Any distance or caliber is OK

Cool idea!! Don’t shoot the black ones!! Those are the best. You are NUTS shooting in 8 degree weather! I’m a fair weather shooter so I’m gonna have to wait until April at this rate to shoot again. 😊

You can print infused filament with a “normal” printer as long as your hot end will reach the temp and you use a hardened nozzle. Check out Matter Hackers (https://www.matterhackers.com/). That’s where I get all of my off the wall filament.

Here are some files I found on thingiverse.com. The base I was thinking about by Heavy-Impact https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5265108 A neat Chronograph stand https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4787774 A mount for an air cylinder which is really cool...

I can certainly do that but I don’t have one of the little tripods so I don’t know how it mounts. I seem to remember seeing @heavy-impact jad already designed something like that though. Check his files on Thingiverse.com. I’ll look and see if I can find it also.

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

After much designing, redesigning, printing and repeating a dozen or so times, I’ve come up with Rev 2 of my original design for the battery eliminator. Here is the contact carrier and buck. This unit will take from 3-32 VDC and output 1.5-30 VDC and is adjustable. A side benefit is the...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

I just had to kinda laugh while reading through these latest posts. I can picture a couple of engineers in Sweden reading through this and thinking “why do they keep taking our toy apart and keep trying to figure it out?!?!” 🤣

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

Awesome @UCChris!! I‘ve got a flat replacement cover designed if you can’t make something work. It already has a slot in the side to feed wire from inside the battery tray to outside the unit. I know I’ve been quiet the past few days because I’m back to driving thumbtacks with sledgehammers...

Best of the oilless cheapy compressors?

One other thing to keep in mind filling customer’s tanks is they need to come back in the store for a refill. Once in the store, the likelihood of them buying something else is extremely high. It’s also highly likely they’ll bring a friend at some point and then you’ll have the potential for...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

That is a REALLY cool idea but unless the circuitry is shielded, which I doubt it is, it's probably going to mess with it. @SkeeterHawk has been inside his and knows what to look for so he would be better to answer than I would be. I'm planning to put a small threaded brass insert in mine and...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

As you can tell, @SkeeterHawk is the electronics guy between the two of us. I'm more the wood/plastic fab guy. We're VERY dangerous when we start brainstorming together though! :D I ordered an adjustable buck that has an input range of of 3 VDC - 32 VDC and an adjustable output range of...

Got the leads soldered in, plugged the battery pack in, crossed my fingers and……..GREEN LIGHT!!! I have a 5v wall wart to either charge the batteries or power the unit directly. I also verified that the output on a USB on my laptop is 5vdc so now I have 3 ways to power the unit (4 if you...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

So I finally got some time to work on this project. The end design wasn’t exactly what I’d envisioned originally but it came together pretty well. My original plan was to make the “battery tray” part of the lid so I’d just have 1 unit. After digging in to this, that proved to be impossible...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

On another post (somewhere, I don't remember where), i read that there are 2 spare pads on the ckt board right on the edge that are labeled + and -. You should be able to solder to those pads to make a connection directly to the board. Be aware though that if you use an outside power source...

What The FX Pocket Chrono Should Have Been - Rechargable

That is awesome information!! I knew the low battery was set pretty high when SkeeterHawk told me his is only good an hour or so of shooting before it needs batteries. No clue what was going through the minds of the people at FX when they decided to go with 3 extremely small batteries to power...
