    Ridiculous stuff

They do where I live in Alabama and I’m what’s known as an old tired b@st@rd around here. Rick H.

Any buy it for life air rifles?

I’ve got about 15 and like all of them for different reasons. As such I don’t plan to sell off any of them. I wish I could say that about photography and RC planes. Rick H.

    N/A Choices over choices…

I’ve been pondering the JTS Brawn or another Anschutz 10 meter rifle. I definitely don’t need either. Rick H.

Small + QUIET to kill rats at close range ?*?

If I understand this correctly you have a rat problem in a constricted place such as an attic? I think the solution is to lure them into the yard and use a bigger more capable gun. If your shooting knowledge is limited you’ll have to learn to shoot accurately and learn how to maintain your...

Do you ever get fed up with Airguns?

I expect certain things from my guns no matter what powers them. Reliability is first, when I want it to fire it needs to do so every time. Next is consistency. As long as I do my part it needs to group well. Third is accuracy. It takes some testing but I want it to hit where I aim. I want all...

    JTS JTS Brawn

Evening everyone, I was watching YouTube last night and saw a review of a bull pup called the JTS Brawn. I’ve been thinking hard on a bull pup and gotten some suggestions here but was not familiar with this one. It looks very accurate with group sizes under 1/2moa at 40 yards. A bit heavy but...

    Umarex Zelos .25 vs Gauntlet 2 .30

Not really, these days I refer to myself as an old tired bastard. I shot heavy competition rifles back in the day, Black Star heavy barrels, McMillan stock, the whole bit. I also used to carry a stupid heavy camera bag everywhere for work. Maybe this is why I I always walk leaning to one side...

    Umarex Zelos .25 vs Gauntlet 2 .30

Two questions: what’s your budget and what are you going to use it for? The Gauntlet is a bit of a chunk but handles well. I have two and have no problem carrying them. For a long day in the woods I would consider the lighter Zelos. You’ll finish the day not completely worn out, a definite plus...

Advice sought on an entry level 10M air pistol

What are you planning to do, compete or just shoot for fun? I don’t shoot pistol competition but I do have a 717 that’s a lot of fun. Work out a realistic budget for yourself and shop around. Don’t start out with a high end gun, just get something you can take to a match and see what others are...

Name a decent entry level airgun in the $250- $400 airgun price range. 25 to .30 caliber

I got a Gauntlet 2 in .25 used for just over $200. It’s been very good. Rick H.

Is the fx impact the worst investment and resale values?

If I want to spend money close to the price of a new gun I’ll just buy a new one. In any market used items are going to be significantly less expensive. Nature of the beast. This is a hobby for most, myself included, and if I bought everything I now have at new prices I would triple my...

Do You Shoot At A "Range"?

We have a range near by on a national forest and mostly I shoot pb’s there but if I want to practice 50-100 yards with air guns that’s usually where I go. Otherwise it’s my back yard for air gun shooting. It’s legal and I can do it safely. Rick H.

Umarex Talk me out of a Umarex Gauntlet 2 sl30

I bought a Gauntlet 2 in .25 in the classifieds here. I still like it and bought a Gauntlet, not a 2, as a second .25 because I want two of everything. The second one had some problems but it got sorted and shoots very well. Both are big and a bit heavy but not my heaviest and well priced. No...

    amazed

Decide what you want the gun to do first, then work your way there. When you get there quit messing with it and just enjoy shooting it. Start on the next project, it never ends. Ever. Rick H.

How important is perfect level your scope to your gun?

Having competed out to 1000 yards the scope being mounted perfectly was critical to hitting the target and that hasn’t changed for me. If it isn’t right there’s no need to bother wasting whatever ammo you are shooting. That’s just me. Rick H.

    Facebook group content

Make yourself a list of questions you had when getting in to this sport. I know that while I still have many, early on I didn’t even know what to ask. Then work out 5-10 minute videos on each topic. You’ll keep busy. Rick H.

As a dealer I want tell you the biggest hurdle people have with PCP's

My first pcp was a Maximus as well. When I bought it I knew almost nothing about serious airgun shooting. I also bought a hand pump that continues to work well. I’ve since added a couple Gauntlets in .25 and those pump up to much higher pressure but it’s quite a bit more work. They’ve been...

Target shooting...I can't be the only one

I tend to enjoy target shooting. Maybe a paper target, split a card, blow up a cola or hit a spinner. I’m not interested in hunting and don’t have much in the way of pests so I practice at different distances and shooting positions so if there’s something that needs shooting it isn’t a problem...
