    MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

The round barrel holder is the original with 16mm barrels and canted grip. Later a lighter weight "Hunter" square block with 15mm barrel and plumb grip attachment. Then square block receiving 16mm barrels. None is cheap to manufacture due to the low volume.

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

I normally shoot Hunter and am attending worlds with a number of other hunters. Shooting with friends and making new friends at what will be an awesome 3 days is award enough. No shame ever in losing to awesome shooters, if anything it will be a great learning experience stretching skill sets...

    MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

Just like Scott says, keeping with the traditional non-regulated USFT, poppet diameter and hammer weight for a proper tune. My regulated/bastardized USFT is tuned for 20 FPE so for this one competition it's strangle screw and regulator set point. I started with 800 psi set point less strangle...

    MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

Tuning down my USFT to <12FPE for worlds WFTC in Arizona. It is amazing, 135 shots within 10 FPS SD 2.4 set point ranges 1,200 - 1,100 psi 15 cu in bottle filled to 3K. Me doping for wind at sub 12FPE, not so amazing. I learning a lot of respect for the WFTF crew.

    AAFTA GP course optimization

I think an example score comparison expresses the concern of current scoring system, these are two examples of national points I received. 91pts for 11th place Hunter PCP at 2024 Sonoran Desert Grand Prix (actual points 66) 74pts for 1st place Hunter PCP and high match score 2024 Nevada State...

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

So I'll be the second guy who likes the 16x Hunter scope limit. It is definitely more challenging which is the fun factor, everyone making a near perfect score is pandering to egos. While a perfect score is great goal, having the top three shooters separated by 3 or less points is a dismal tool...

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

Field target shooters choose their preference every time they attend a match, Pyramid Air Cup was 5 to 58. Allowing that small of a group to impact at over one magnatude the sample, just to be listed in the same scoring column is heavy handed to say the least. Just shoot Open Class/WFTF or...

    What’s the best mounting solution

With my impact I strive to reduce the number of mechanical connections between scope and barrel, so one piece non adjustable mounts. I also resist mounting and unmounting, keeping it as settled as possible. Remounting, zeroing and then a thermal cycle will usually result in a POI shift.

14x50 Immersive Optics, very compact, wide field of view matches 4.5x, but at 14x magnification. Very clear glass with bright images. Especially well suited to bullpups. Makes for easy target acquisition with precision placement without zooming in and out.

    Why are scopes so expensive?

Image quality, construction, accuracy, durability... and many more features including technician's time in assembly. You decide the value to your application and budget, completely subjective. Bring it to a competition for an objective performance test.

    FT etiquette question

Complaints in etiquette usually match the level of frustration a shooter is experiencing... everything going well=less likely to complain. Keep your situational awareness meter engaged, have fun and be respectful especially on someones bad day. For me, I like smack talk 100% of the time, the...

    FT etiquette question

If your club offers Freestyle do that for your first couple matches. You can use a rangefinder checking your ranging, adjust your scope turrets as much as you like, ignore forced positions or not... it is up to you with no grace needed.
