    N/A Best PCP Under $500

I have a Benjamin Maximus in .22 which will hit eggs consistently using a red dot at 40 yards. I also have a Gauntlet 2 in .25 that will do even better with a scope. The Maximus is smaller, lighter and has a smaller air tank while Gauntlet is bigger and heavier but if I’m shooting more than 30...

    50 yards

No one has mentioned the Gauntlet 2 but I have one in .25 and it should do very well out to 50. A little bulky and a little heavy but a good shooter. It’s well below $500. Rick H.

N/A Please recommendations please for very accurate target .177 or .22 air rifle for an adult....up to $600 max

Benjamin AR2078A. I bought mine as a first competition gun. It has peep sights but can also accept scopes. It uses one or two co2 cartridges and will give around 50-55 shots in .177 with two. Check Airgun detectives on YouTube for a review. Well within your price range and doesn’t need much...

N/A Lightweight pcp for squirrel hunting

I’ll second the Maximus in .22. It’s lightweight and accurate enough with a red dot to hit eggs at 25 yards. I use a hand pump on mine. It gives about 25 shots if pumped to max pressure. Not as many as some others but overall a good gun for not a lot of$$. Rick H.

    Crosman Silhouette first shots

Evening everyone, I finally got my first shots on my new to me Sillhouette today. It’s got a two color dot sight on it and I used the green instead of the red. Using Crosman red tip pellets the gun is shooting high and left and I’ll take care of that but shooting for groups I couldn’t be...

    This is what happens……

You see, this is what happens. I have a busy street going by my house people have a truly annoying tendency to throw things in my yard. Apparently over the summer some idiot tossed out a bag of discount airgun seeds along with his burger wrapper into my front yard. These sprouted and I had to...

    Used marketplaces

I’ve been very happy with purchases in the classifieds here but can’t speak about the others. You can save time, money and effort by deciding what you want to do. There is no single gun that, in my opinion only, does everything well. Do you want a pcp? You’ll need either a hand pump or a...

My desperate search for a reasonably priced Crosman 2240

I hate to be negative here but based on gun and parts availability, amount of work involved and what appears to be limited experience (correct me if I’m wrong) I would stop now and go in some other direction. Rick H.

    Another New Member

No one ever recommends this one but I have a Gauntlet and a Gauntlet 2, both in .25. Both needed a little work and they shoot well out to about 60 yards but I haven’t tried either past that, just haven’t gotten around to it. Not expensive but will be fine for squirrels, rats, crows and such...

Do you stand up , or lay down

Most of mine are in a nice display case butt down. One stays horizontal in a carry case in my car. Rick H.

    Hello

I have a Benjamin Trail in .22 that shoots very nicely. I shoot whatever pellets I pick up at Walmart and it seems to like them all. You’ll need a decent scope and springers can be a bit rough on scopes so shop around for a good one. Coastal Drifter is right, shot placement is key, you don’t...

    Crosman Silhouette sites

Here it is with the green/red dot, it does both! I gues I’ll have to remove the shroud if I want to put an iron site on. A very nice gun though. Rick H.

Introducing myself - asking for advice on a new airgun while I'm at it.

Welcome to the rabbit hole. I didn’t see any suggestions I would disagree with, lots of very good advice. I’ll add one though, the Gauntlet 2 in .25 caliber. No wood furniture and a bit bigger and heavier but mine is quite good out to about 60 yards though I haven’t done much with it past that...

    Crosman Silhouette sites

Evening everyone, I’m going tomorrow to pick up a very nice Crosman Silhouette from my local airgun smith. It comes with a red dot if I want to pay extra. The gun comes from Crosman with no sighting at all. I was buying this with the idea of competing in CMP events and apparently red or green...

    Crosman Vapor Max pricing

I was under the impression they are not widely available yet and expected a higher price tag. Looks to be very accurate and I wonder if it would be a good truck gun. I think I’ll find out. Rick H.
