Again, the simple answer looks to me to be that we count two high scores at each Grand Prix. High combined PCP score for all PCP competitors = 100%, and High combined Piston score for all Piston competitors = 100%.

That doesn't really work either when there is only two or three in a class, but you could do it with all Piston classes and all PCP classes being combined to those sub groups when not enough competitors.

So why not change to the "highest score in each class equals 100%" and the other scores in that class are a percentage of that high class score? The new system is working worst than the one you are trying to fix imho...

I really don't think the "exploit" word is the correct term here. It suggests that the environmental factors were not registered correctly. The factors are only "On or Off". There are no rules of when to turn them on or off... So, it's totally fair for a match director to check the wind...

This is exactly what I was saying in this thread way back in the beginning.... There needs to be a scale for each of the environmental factors... mild wind (3-5mph), medium wind 6-9mph, strong wind 10 plus mph.. (in Nevada you need very strong wind 20mph plus some years) Same with elevation up...

Exactly, we had a new shooter we trained in Hunter PCP, ( his second match but with a lot of training). Bill Galloway's scored the overall high score on a 41.39 troyer course with wind etc. He shot a 92/100. The second highest score was in Open with 89/100 from a veteran shooter. Hunter class...

1,500 to 2,000 miles of driving with a team of shooters/drivers is not a lot to ask.... compared to 3,000... in my humble opinion:-) way better chance of getting a team to attend.
