You should not be putting any lube into the compression chamber. The best way to lube a spring gun is to disassemble, clean and lube with a moly or krytox. Putting oil on the compression chamber will cause detonation and ultimately damage.

Are you referring to the barrel sleeve? If so, it is there to protect your hand from the sharp front sight when cocking.

Do you know what the rings were torqued to on the dovetail? Sportsmatch says torque to like 50in/lbs, I've never had one move.
