FX Wildcat .22 power loss and other issues - Resolved by great customer service!

Hi hsnmz I got a brand new rifle and did a quick review on another post. All good so far. Ron at Youngs is asking FX about the trigger seating. It is bad on the new rifle too at both ends of the trigger bar. I hope to get some advice info after the holidays. Cheers

    Wildcat=best platform for hunting?

Hi Jclee I have the Wildcat in .22, with scope and long shroud, weights in around 8.5lb. I have taken a number of rabbits, hare, pest birds and turkey's with it, using 18gr JSB's out to 50+ yards. I think it is great in the field and very accurate, when the shooter does their part. I did make a...

FX Wildcat .22 (Second gun) "Review"

I really like this 22 wildcat I have. It loves 15.89 gr JSB’s and the 18’s are close enough to same that’s its hard to tell if it’s them or me. 50 yards generally gives me one ragged hole. Shooting with a Atlas bipod and rear bag. Hi Kitplanenut, I am hoping to improve my accuracy with more...

FX Wildcat .22 (Second gun) "Review"

Hi Poorshot, an old pair of socks with some rice? There are lots of alternatives to brand bought sand bags, as well as bags of sand, a pair of jean legs and again socks, preferably with no holes. I did get a Harris S series bipod and now looking at the FX barrel clamp to mount versus drilling...

...original replacement offer, of having it returned to the retailer for a fix, with a care package. So my set up is the FX Wildcat .22 Hawke 4.5-14*42 TAC 30 SW, Hawke level, Butler creek covers, shooting 18.13 JSB’s Off the bat I still have the trigger linkage issue, now at the front and rear...

    Wildcat Issues

I would say I am happy, so far but I have been here before. it would be interesting to see what was going to put 'fixed' on the other gun but I won't see it. It was a straight up swap so no chance of seeing these things after the care package has been sent. I would like a redesign on the trigger...

    Wildcat Issues

Hi Poorshot, I am at about 10 magazines and all is well. It seems to like the 18gr, which is a blessing! I have shot 3 rabbits and a hare, plus a couple of Mynah with it. I have the same issue with the trigger, this time both the front and back linkages have popped out. It is not a major but...

    FX Wildcat for someone 6'5"

I am 6'2" and the Wildcat in .22 shoulders really well for me. The .25 is same configuration just a bot longer. I put high Hawke mounts on with my Hawke TAC 30, they do the job. I do think there is a movement towards adjustable though and I feel that I would have benefitted from going to the FX...

    Wildcat Issues

I was contacted by FX to have my gun repaired at my retailer. The gun was already on its way to be replaced, hoping this is still the outcome as it will be faster. Great service from Youngs and FX, Johan. I would like to have the gun returned to youngs and then we can send them a care package...

    Wildcat Issues

I saw it. I am going to give Ron a call this morning and ask if he will test that one but he will need to put 500 shots through it or there may be no difference. It is all about logistics, gettin guns from Auckland to here etc. I will keep this thread up to date. Have you parted with your hard...

FX Wildcat .22 power loss and other issues - Resolved by great customer service!

Hi I want to start this by saying that I am in contact with Johan and I hope we continue to work together to get these issues fixed. 1: I have gone from Chrono results AV 901 ES 18 SD 4 to AV 380 ES 48 SD 13. This is with the same 200bar fill and the same JSB 18gr pellet. I started an accuracy...

    Wildcat Issues

Me again. Info I sent Johan at FX. I have had my FX Wildcat .22 for around 14 days. I have had a few issues but this one is, in my mind, major. I have gone from Chrony results AV 901 ES 18 SD 4 to AV 380 ES 48 SD 13. This is with the same 200bar full and same pellet. I started an accuracy test...

FX WILDCATS PROBLEM (MAG. POP OUT)

Hello rjohnigk, I had the same issue, only twice, and it was shooting a lighter pellet. A Crossman Prem. HP and an Accupel both 14gr-ish. I was shooting these as I have had another issues arise, this one is at the top of my list. I have had a massive power drop, 900-300fps. I will post this on...

    Fx wildcat .22 problem

Hi rjohnigk, thanks you got me on the right path. A quick stock removal and trigger test and I have found the issue with the trigger. The rear linckage has popped its seating. I am not sure if it should be welded in there or it is a pin that fits through both sides. It seems to be too short to...

    Wildcat Issues

Hi PoorshotIt is never easy parting with that kind of money and I expected great things. I am not disappointed with the rifle, the 'issues' have not been major, that being said I may have a slow leak too! I sold a couple of PCPs and various other related things to get the money, or most of it...
