    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

It's a .22. Now to re seal the gas ram Cometa 400. It's dropped 100 fps in 11,000 shots and is ready for some attention.

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

The operation seems to be a success. I re assembled the rifle with the vortek kit. It went back together with no problems. .......... If you can push it all in there without a compressor I'd like to watch. There was much more force against the new spring going in than the old one coming out...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

You could probably do it without a compressor. Re-assembly would be a fight and things might not go together smoothly. There wasn't much pressure taking it out (35 lbs) for very long (2-3") with the broken/sagging spring. I'm putting it back together this afternoon. We'll see how much force...

Only target shooting, do you re-zero for shooting each distance?

That works great in a match where every shot counts. It sucks when plinking shotgun shells from 20-75 yards. You have to learn your transitions instinctively or you wind up spending more time estimating range and adjusting your scope. Once again you do your best and learn from your misses...

Aesthetics: excluding wood furnitured guns, 1 to 5 how much do they impact your purchasing decisions?

Wood is good if you can get it. And yes, you should feel guilty about your obsession with storm trooper armament. It's disgusting. Please take a moment to reflect upon your transgressions. I like synthetic stocks. I shoot a Savage 30-06 that will flat out bruise you with a wood stock. Put a...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

I get it. When I realized it was a threaded pipe plug I was flabbergasted. If you had any friction on it it would want to walk out of the clamp when you turn it. I cut a little block with a step in it to hook over the clamp jaw. Then put a chair glide on it. It will work dandy for everything...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

Yeah the 97 is going to be different. You need to twist and manipulate things. The dogs will be 2" longer and rounded to fit the contour of the receiver. Then I'll clamp them to the rifle with a hand clamp. I'll build a little different "button" for the movable jaw that rotates so I won't be...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

Mine was made from scraps left in the desert where I shoot! An old treated 2x6 about 2 feet long and plywood from a chicken coop. The dogs are maple from an old coffee table I scrapped. There is a chair glide from one of the legs for a button and some scrap leather from a previous project...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

No pressure on the barrel at all. The blocks hit the comp tube. Not the pivot block. I hear you on the safety strap. With a long spring it might be wise. With this gun there isn't any chance of it getting loose. It's low under the jaws and if anything the pressure is pushing things down into...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

It's a strange splintered break. And a mean left hook on the piston end. I'm assuming it's an HW seal and spring. It's been rebuilt under warranty twice (AOA). The pink plastic is a nice touch. They should make matching pink breech seals... There was a buttload of grease ahead of the piston...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

Thanks! The gun is low enough in the jig and the pressure is on the comp tube...not the pivot. So I don't think there is any upward force at all. I thought about a strap over the tube or a zip tie but when I put pressure on it I could see there was no need. I used the clamp on the front face...

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

The seal is toast. I think it's actually perforated. No nicks but it had lots of grease on the front of the seal.

    HW/Weihrauch HW95 rebuild

After breaking a couple new (factory) springs I finally decided to dig into the HW95. I've been using a bar clamp for a compressor. It works but it's less than ideal. I wanted to build a jig that held all my rifles properly. I grabbed a piece of 3/8" plywood and a couple pine 2x2 and went to...

Any buy it for life optics?

I have iron sights for life. Scopes are just scopes. Some guys demand all sorts of fashion and many scopes offer that. I just need a reference point to aim from. As long as something about the scope dosent "bother me" I can hit the target just fine. There used to be a few good scopes and a...

Broken hatsan 130QE mine is like it's cocked but will not shoot ever heard of this before?

The safety cam and the safety link both will cause that. Engage the safety. Lay the gun on its left side and give it a few good bumps. Then disengage the safety, stand it barrel up and give it a few more bumps. When you get it to go off then tale it out of the stock. Youll see the safety cam...

    Ridiculous stuff

A couple years ago those guys smoking weed in their car would serve jail time if they got caught. They would loose any chance for student aid and the criminal record follows them like a shadow through their career. Now they must show their ID to buy weed. A couple years ago you didn't have...

    Ridiculous stuff

Maybe you should hire a lawyer? Organize a protest? "They" are definitely picking on you and forcing you to humiliate yourself to make a purchase. It's un-American is what it is! You must fight this pellet oppression. A true patriot would not allow himself to be humiliated like this!

    Ridiculous stuff

It's just store policy. Where's the rub? Lots of items have to have ID or be checked out differently. It's not a conspiracy. It's just the business trying to control their liability. Dont worry. This isn't oppression. It's just business. The world has lost it's collective mind. People steal...

Any buy it for life optics?

I hope I don't have a scope that outlasts me. When I die there will be a box of broken ones to haul to the dump. I plan on falling over dead as the last one looses horizontal control. Ì have a Zeiss scope on my Rem. 700 VS. It will take a lifetime to pay off the credit card. I figure that...

    scope sighting is off

If your scope was zeroed and suddenly went out of adjustment range it's probably toast. Re center the scope with a mirror or by counting clicks. Re-zero. If you can't zero it then you need another scope.
