    Donny FL Emperor Small Bore?

Cool, thanks. I already have a DonnyFl Shogun. It’s only slightly quieter than my Huggett Snipe on my FX Crown despite being much bigger. I’ll wait to see how it works on the FX DRS before I upgrade.

    Donny FL Emperor Small Bore?

Were yours shrouded? I’m wondering how big of a difference it makes.

    Buy once, cry once.

I believe “buy once, cry once” is sound advice. Buying a complex, precision piece of equipment and immediately attempting to modify it is not a good idea. Especially if you don’t understand how it works. If I want a super accurate gun, are you suggesting I buy a $400 gun and tinker with it...

    Donny FL Emperor Small Bore?

Anyone using it on a .22 or .25? I’m buying a 40-50 FTLB .25 without a shroud. I’d like to quiet the muzzle blast down to about the noise level of a mid powered spring piston gun. Might this be achievable with the Emperor? Thanks!

    N/A Tuning question

Tuning is basically just adjusting the velocity to suit whatever it is that you’re looking to accomplish. There are a few reasons to tune. 1. To get the lowest possible standard deviation and extreme spread. The benefits of this are obvious. 2. Harmonics. Some guns group slightly better at a...

    Snowpeak FPS Problem

Which ones are known to preform from the first shot? I have a limited knowledge of airguns. It was my understanding that inconsistencies with velocity is typically a tuning issue. Is this not the case? I have a FX crown that the first shot was way low velocity. Then within a few shots it would...

    The squirrel slayer

Sometimes I brain shoot them. It depends on how stable and confident I feel about the shot. Heart/lung shots provide more margin for error. I’ve accidentally hit a few squirrels in the jaw and I hate seeing them suffer.

    The squirrel slayer

Here are a few of the squirrels I’ve taken this season. I grew up hunting with a Beeman R9 in 177. Going to a PCP in 25 caliber is so much easier. Add in a scope that has a built in rangefinder and ballistic software…. it’s almost cheating.

    Other Cold shot accuracy

His target was at 50 yards. A good experiment in my opinion if that’s the max range he is shooting at game. My FX Crown had a cold bore shot that was 50+ fps slow. It drove me crazy. I upped the hammer spring and now it’s only 5 FPS outside the normal velocity spread. Have you tried...

    48 yard gray squirrel

Yeah I feel like it’s a great value. The clarity at 20x is ok but not great. That being said, it’s still hard to beat. If you want hunting footage it’s a better option than a scope mounted camera in my opinion. As far as the ballistic software, I just entered my pellets specifications and it...

    48 yard gray squirrel

Arken Zulus 5-20. With built in night vision, range finder and ballistic calculator!

    48 yard gray squirrel

Thanks! The scope has a built in ballistic calculator and range finder. A red hash mark appears at the proper drop calculation, after ranging the target. In this case it was roughly 2 MOA from a 25 yard zero.

    48 yard gray squirrel

Nice. Being able to make cold bore shots is critical. My cold bore shots were 75 fps slow last year. I got it worked out now though. I wish I could run the 34’s. Not quite as accurate as the 25’s in my gun.

Ever make a shot so good you pack up and go home? I do. I like ending on a good note.

FX Time to decide, either FX Dynamic 22/500 or FX Crown 22/500

With airguns it’s all about the wind. More power will allow you to push heavier projectiles faster and buck the wind more. I have an FX Crown MK2 380mm, in 25 caliber. I’m very happy with it! It’s pretty much a 1- 1.25 MOA gun out to 100 yards with pellets. No real modifications have been...

    Beautiful day of squirrel hunting

I appreciate the input. The shots of me preparing to take the shots are not in real time. They are taken after the shot from the shooting spot and position that I was in. Filming yourself while trying to stalk and being quiet and stealthy is harder than I expected. I guess that’s why there’s...

    Beautiful day of squirrel hunting

It was 71 degrees and blue skies today here in NC. I got 3 squirrels on the local game lands and put together this quick video. I’d like to improve the quality of my videos. I think I need to add some commentary. Any other suggestions?

What do you do with the quarry you’ve taken down?

I mainly hunt gray squirrel. Some I eat myself. Some get swallowed whole by my exotic pets...yellow anacondas and a boa constrictor.

    Gray squirrel hunting video!

Thanks for the kind words. Yep trigger sticks are a game changer. I only started using them last year. I’d feel handicapped if I didn’t have them now.

    Gray squirrel hunting video!

Check out my first hunt of the season. And first attempt at recording a hunt. Shooting my FX Crown MK2 and Arken Zulus scope.
