Need a low power air pistol, or possibly a rifle. What to get in today's market?

One option would be a pcp rifle with adjustable power. AA s510 is the choice I made for just that reason, but there are others.

Air Arms Reduced Power AA Prosport

Yes, I was looking for a back up for the QX4600 at ARH a couple of years ago, but it was no longer available. Two other springs were recommended so I ordered them and have them on hand. That QX is perfecto, no doubt.

Air Arms Reduced Power AA Prosport

Good move. MY PS in .22 was my first air rifle a decade ago, and it was, like yours, great out of the box. But after a year or so I started experimenting with various springs and kits; I ended up with a hybrid consisting of an ARH 4600 spring (if I'm remembering right), a Vortek seal, and a...

How to prevent rust on airguns?

The Product Farm guy on YouTube ran extensive tests on CLPs for rust prevention and found that Break Free CLP was the best, followed closely by Frog Lube. I use Frog Lube and Ballistol only because I've got so much of the stuff lying around. Also, I love the smell of Ballistol.

Other Best .22 PCP for the cost, avoiding buyer's remorse...

There is an abundance of riches in air rifles these days, so there are lots of sure bets. I don't have wide experience with different airgun manufacturers, only because I started with Air Arms a decade ago on the advice from someone on this board, and have stayed with them--not out of brand...

    HW/Weihrauch Weak guy springers

One thing you may want to consider is a piece of pvc pipe big enough to fit over the lever, and long enough to give you the leverage you want. My pro-sport seems easy to cock, at least to this 65-year-old, but not everyone would think so I imagine. Altering cocking technique is another option...

Air Arms Any Air Arms S510 owners here?

I've got a s510 carbine in .22, a Ultimate sporter in .25 and a Prosport in .22 Love them all. Apart from a small leak, after several years, in a pressure guage (easily repaired), they've functioned flawlessly.

    N/A Manual PCP filling

I've hand pumped my pcps (both AA 510s) for years, but I used mine mainly for pests and occasional target practice. I use a Hill pump, but there are cheaper Chinese-made pumps for sale on the auction site. In any case, it's a good idea to have a hand pump as a back up, so you might start with...

My Pro Sport was quieted down quite a lot with a Neil Claque suppressor.

    Lead free pellets for hunting?

I've taken a couple of squirrels and any number of rats with lead-free in both .22 and 25. No problemo.

    Lead-Free?

I've shot them in .22 and .25, and they're great. I'd shoot nothing but lead free pellets if I could afford them.

    Shout out to Neil Clague!

I've got two aftermarket mods, both from Neil. Love them.

I dropped PayPal when they started dropping groups whose political views they objected to. Never had a problem with them otherwise.

What's the most accurate pellet in 25 caliber for Air Arms S510 XS Ultimate Sporter ?

Sorry, I meant 25.4 grains. And that's in my .25 Ultimate Sporter by the way.

What's the most accurate pellet in 25 caliber for Air Arms S510 XS Ultimate Sporter ?

I've found the Air Arms Diabolo Field 24.5 grains to be extremely accurate. In the lead-free category, the Baracuda green 19.91 grains have worked best for me. I can't say that I've done an extensive comparison of pellets on a range, so take my experience with a grain of salt. Here's a test...

    Tx200 Post Rebuild Outing 2

Are you checking the skirts on the pellets? I find a lot of inconsistency in them; you might try a batch of non-lead pellets to see if you get the same inconsistency since their skirts tend to be much more uniform. Just a thought.

Name your best off the shelf PCP

    1) AA s510 in .22. 5 years, thousands of shots, consistent and trouble free. 2) AA Ultimate Sporter xs .25 Four years, thousands of shots, consistent and almost trouble free--had to replace pressure guage, which took three minutes.
