Beeman Winter personal baseline for P17 at 10-Meters

Great start for the winter season. Always good to get a baseline. I assume you will track your scores over the season to watch the improvement. One suggestion would be to put a small table/tv tray in front of you to hold the pellets. Each shot you are breaking position to take the step over...

Other thinking about buying an avenger, for plinking and some occasional hunting. would a hand pump be reasonable or a compressor is a must?

I started with a marauder and a hand pump. Unfortunately my plinking sessions tend to be a lot of shooting. The hand pump got old very fast. It worked fine, but I quickly realized I was pumping more than shooting. plus with the hand pumps you have to wait for it to cool when pumping, so I...

Value of testing at shorter range

Yes definitely. Just for fun this year I took some shots at 5 yards, just to see what the holdover was. then about a week later while hunting, I happened upon a squirrel that close. I would have missed if I hadn’t just practiced that shot. so you never know. plus any trigger time is good...

    Skout. Evo

Nice shooting. Pretty long shots. Those lizards look tiny. Definitely something to be happy about.

    Fox (or big reds) Squirrel

Hmmm, never heard of boiling them first. We usually fry them, and then roast/steam them in the oven for about 2 hours. Same result, fall off the bone. Then we use the drippings for gravy, yum.

    Left handed safety

Marauder safety is in front of the trigger, so equally left and right handed. i think my Daystate revere is on the back of the receiver, so in my opinion it is both.

    10m anyone?

Used to run a 10m winter league in Terre Haute. I think it is still going. Moved, and now just practice pistol in the basement, but not regular enough. In SE Indiana near Cincinnati.. Wouldn’t mind mind finding some folks around here to shoot with. FWB Mod 2. Enjoy

Need a Gun for Iguana Pests

If you get the 2240, or other crosman pistol, you will want to get a buckrail moderator to quiet it down. They are fairly cheap and work great. Never shot an iguana, so don’t know it will have the power needed or not. Others will need to weigh in on that.

    Other First PCP help

Tried HW 97k in.20 worked fine for hunting, but it got heavy fast. Went to Daystate Revere in .22. Not too heavy, accurate to 50-60 yds. Quiet. Shot at squirrel last year. Totally misjudged distance. It ducked, looked up, then went right back to eating the nut. So noise didn’t spook it at...

    Why does it sit unused...

for me it is the pcp’s. One is for FT, one is for hunting. But most of the time I grab a springer or multipump to just plink around. Mainly because I don’t want to take the time to set up the compressor to fill them. Also with the pcp’s plinking gets too boring. At the set ranges, they just...

N/A Least problematic air rifle brand for newbies

For out of the box, least amount of work, my experience has been Daystate Wolverine or hunstman.

    Other New Member

The Daisy 853 from CMP would be a great place to get a few more rifles. They are SSP and shoot pretty well for 10m. Hard to find decent 10m guns anymore for low $. Everyone seem to want high powered pcp. If you can find them, the CZ200T / air armsT200 are a great platform for 10m. Our club...

N/A Recommendations for small/light pest gun?

Not sure if you considered co2 for low power shots. The Diana Chaser in the rifle configuration is low powered and very quiet. Just a matter if you temperature ties are fairly constant 65+ deg f for the co2 to be useful.

    HW/Weihrauch Spring Time Yard Maintenance!

Nice, that’s the kind of yard work I like.

    N/A CMP 853 came today.

The 853’s are a great little rifle. Low powered, but great for 10m shooting. A great way to practice and improve the off hand shooting. Not a lot to go wrong with them, and they are pretty easy to disassemble and repair. Take a look at the trigger mod on Pilington’s. The trigger is probably...

HW/Weihrauch Easter teaser for WOOD lovers..

Nice, but you put the cheek piece on the wrong side…. Just kidding. That is a very beautiful piece of wood. Great job on that one.

    JTS Deadcenter ammo .20 cal

Love to see a pcp in the 18-30 fpe range. Lightweight, 30+ shots per fill. Short for taking into the brush woods. Quiet. Not too long for easy carry. Pellets, hmm? 12-16 gr round nose in tins of 500.
