    Skout Airguns Epoch Compact

I'm the opposite. I like reviews that show the CTCs of five 5-shot groups. Also would love for reviewers to report dB of every gun they shoot so I can get a comparison over time. Lastly, nobody reports on length of pull. So maybe at the end, put a slide that has key information like this on...

    Scope leveler...

OK. But having the muzzle line up with the scope bell at a fixed distance (in the mirror) doesn't ensure that the erector tube is parallel to the bore, does it? Don't you still need to shoot at 2 (or more) distances to see if there is any x-axis shift with distance? If there is, should you...

    Mythbusting Precision BR

What are the key variables/ adjustments that good shooters test to "tune" the rifle position on a one piece or two piece rest?

    Scope leveler...

Your instructions are clear and this will align the reticle with the muzzle. But does this ensure that the scope tube is also aligned with the bore? If the bore is angled slightly differently from the scope tube, won't shots at various distances shift left-right of the vertical reticle? Is...

hBN (Hexagonal Boron Nitride) vs fouling

I hope it works for you. But it didn't for me in my benchrest accuracy quest. I've tried HBN, moly, tungsten, teflon, and graphite. Treated barrels and pellets. Most increased muzzle velocity. None improved accuracy/precision; in fact they mostly worsened groups. And all but graphite...

    Importance of scope zero

You stated the scope zero very well, i.e., "zero starting at 22 yards" or "scope zero from 22 to 40 yards". Someone who says they zeroed at 40 yards doesn't know if they have zeroed it like your blue line or potentially with a zero holdover from, say, 40 to 53 yards. My Sightron SIII 10-50x60...

Time to combine Open and Hunter?

Sorry to be late to the Open v Hunter debate. There may be an easy way to address all the issues: relax Open rules to allow bucket-and-sticks as per the current Hunter rules. Then folks who like Hunter but want no limits on scope magnification can get that in Open class. Yes, some people...

Comparing Element Titan 3-18x50 for field target against Sightrons and Athlon

I much prefer the bottom reticle because of the simple numbering system. Each dash is 1 and every heavy line is numbered. I find my SIII 10-50x60 MOA-H has too few reference numbers so that it is possible to mistake which dash to use for the holdover.

Comparing Element Titan 3-18x50 for field target against Sightrons and Athlon

How well does the Sightron S6 distinguish 55 vs 53 vs 50 yards for you? Can you tell the difference optically? Is it repeatable and crisp?

Price for everything delivered in the lower 48 states: $100. I accept PayPal F&F or Zelle. Semi-auto and 6-shot burst modes. BB reservoir holds 300 BBs and feeder holds 30 BBs at a time. Has been great fun for plinking (especially in burst mode) but doesn’t get much use these days. Time for...

    Pellet Weight Difference

Only a few thousandths of a grain off the centerline to cause a problem? or a few thousandths of a distance? Are there any practical tools to check concentricity or where the center of gravity is relative to the "centerline"?

    Comparing a few Poppet Valves

I've been thinking a bit more about the much lower lock time for the pilot valve and how it is due to shorter hammer throw time. I realize the use of a lighter hammer increases its acceleration and thus shortens lock time, but for such a dramatic reduction, wouldn't you also have to reduce the...

USFT Sought guidance on USFT FPS spread - Tim's recommendation worked!

I've tried to reach Tim by phone and email without success, and I can't access his web site. I'd love to hear from @Therealld, but don't want to bother him with a PM. I've been super pleased with the USFT's performance after a recent barrel renovation and adding a stabilizer, but hope to...

USFT Sought guidance on USFT FPS spread - Tim's recommendation worked!

I shoot an unregulated USFT (Hunter #150) in 25 meter heavy varmint (20 FPE max) benchrest. I can regularly shoot 247+ cards but occasionally I’ll get shots that are 2 to 3 mm high or low which prevent scoring a 250. I’ve traced the problem to variations in muzzle velocity. The POI on the...
