Short distance is my game 8 to 30 pretty much covers it, small bores are always brain shots so slugs aren't what I use, always pellets.

Yeah you can tell by the reaction of the pig compared when you get him with a brain shot.

Once again the OP question since some might have forgotten :LOL: at 12-15 yards for small pigs a solid .17 cal will do the job,.....again you need to know where to put the pellet because if you don't all your .25s and .30s you guys are suggesting will not bail you out. I have people not...

Don't know about that, yes they are dangerous and I've been charged before bowhunting them but I also been hunting them with small pellet guns for many years on the ground and would never give that one up.

I'm fixing to move out of Hawaii in the next future and that area of California is one of the options, would love if Airgun hunting for big game is established by then ;)

First of all, you can hunt mammals ( only Pigs and goats on Ohau ) with Air rifles only on private land and still need to have a hunting licence and abide to the game laws. Cannot, repeat cannot hunt game birds even on private lands with air rifles.
