Buy a good rifle. Look for a rifle that can handle a rabbit and a coyote. Go for a .25 Cal that can shot at 60 fpe. FX DRS is the best option for the money (1,100 usd), and then next jump is a Vulcan 3 700 mm that is 1,500 usd. Both will be powerful enough and more accurate than yourself...

Don't do it. I've never owned or shot an FX... You have a solid platform there, can't you convert to .25cal? (I don't honestly know) I'm in the "New doesn't always mean better" camp... That DRS seems like a potential pain to chase leaks, just saying.

Tony still has a couple new Taipan Veteran Gen 1 in 22/25Cal for $1495. Recent released models, the FX DRS might be a good option within the budget. A nice wood stock and very traditional looking design under $1200.

Okay a report on the dreaded FX slow first shot (valve stiction) . I'm happy to report after sitting for a 12hr period the first shot was only 8fps slower than the subsequent shots. Both my King and Impact M3 were nearly 20fps slower on the first shot. Looks like the DRS valve system is a winner.

Did the DRS kill the dreamline classic ? Not even an option on PA site so I assume so. Bummer as I like the classic better. Comparing the DRS .25 600mm with a dreamline .25 (600mm) what is the max fpe you can squeeze out of each if anyone has experience with both. Thanks.
