That's some nice grouping! I'm really on the fence about getting the Notos (cheaper, easier to shoot in my smallish backyard) and the XM1 Scout or Ranger.

The Avenger looks fantastic. I honestly gave up looking for a rifle that would fit the new law. It's ridiculous

I meant it as if I didn't have your guys help, but I worded it funny. You guys have been awesome and super informative. I truly appreciate it.

The scout and ranger both are very high on my list.

Those all sound like good options, but why not do hot on the Notos? Just not enough juice?

That's good to know. Thank you for relaying such good info. It's hard to try and figure this all out on my own. Member BryanH brought up a good point about not needing to shoot much farther than 30 or 40 yds for squirrels. I may be trying to over gun. With that I mind, I'm leaning again...

That's a good point. I may be trying to over-gun. I'm probably over estimating my shooting ability as well. A field shot is much more difficult than bench shooting.

That's a good deal. How important is it for a PCP to be regulated? I know that a regulator helps the gun deliver consistent speeds and performance, but does that mean an un-regulated rifle will be all over the place and inaccurate?

I hadn't heard of that one. I'll have to take a look at it. Thanks!

Those are some really good numbers for stock. Especially since it's price point is so nice.

Bold move getting that close to a skunk hahaha. I do really like the Notos; I've heard pretty much nothing but good things. The only downside I've heard is the slower fps and maybe not having enough "oomph" to reach out much farther than 30 or 40 yds on game. It obviously has enough for that...

I appreciate the insight. That makes sense since it is so much cheaper than the ranger and scouts

I saw those XM1 S4s and I was wondering the difference between those and the ranher/scout. I think it's a different size bottle? But I don't know what else is different mechanically.

Very good point. Just wish Illinois didn't make it so damn hard to go enjoy the woods.

I've heard good things about the avengers. I'd definitely be open to one, but probably used. It's just past the top end I'd like to spend on a rifle alone.

The 25 cal would be good to use for all small game. I'm open to a 25 cal, I just don't want to go below 22. The only restrictions in relation to speed and caliber is how it's delivered. Over 177 cal or greater than 700fps needs to be sent to an FFL, I believe

Thank you for the welcome! I'm definitely trying to do my research. I initially bought a cheap Umarex Synergis elite from TSC, and it didn't work out, so now I'm doing more research and actually digging in. I was trying to catch the last few weeks of squirrel season, but now I've got months, so...

I was looking at that Pinty thread. Interesting stuff. I don't think I have the air gun knowledge to problem solve it and modify it to be a good gun like everybody else in that thread. I was under the impression that it had to go to an FFL for larger than 0.17 cal or faster than 700fps, not...
