    Make some wind flags

Mine are a lot like BBGunn's. I use old political yard signs for the flat piece for the back and a round ball painted half red for the other end (I got the styrofoam balls from Hobby Lobby). I have a small wood block for the pivot and short pieces of steel to connect these pieces. I do not...

    How much charge

I don't usually refill the gun when I am done with it for the day. No special reason, my practice is to fill it as I am getting ready to shoot. Sometimes, especially the 177 has enough air without a refill. I do not leave the hammer cocked, however, nor do I leave a pellet or slug in the...

    Artemis P15 Owners?

I get about 75 shots on my P35-177, maybe more. It is tuned to about 18 fpe. The spring was a bit stout so I shortened it but I should have just made clearance for the hammer spring adjuster to stick out a bit. I think the reg came set 15-20 bar lower than the 22 and 25.

Filter to separate rubber mulch from pellets

I wouldn't throw it all away but if you have a safe way to dispose of lead throwing away the pellets and small debris would speed things up a lot. Separating the good pieces of mulch from the little stuff only took maybe 15 minutes and you loose nearly no volume.

A shout out to All Lefties...

I have left handed Savage bolt actions, a side by side shotgun, a Mossberg shotgun with tang safety (empties go past my face but I don't notice them) and a left handed flintlock. So when I started shooting airguns I was firmly convinced to only buy guns I can shoot comfortably. It's fine with...

    30-Yard Challenge

Well this time I got a couple more points. A 193 11X still with my P35-177 with vector 32X scope shooting H&N Baracuda FTs at 905 fps (measured today, estimated previously). Please use this one in the spreadsheet unless my slow climb continues. I took more warmup shots, 5, but may still need...

    Squirrel hunting

I'll make my standard recommendation but I'll try and be brief. My P35s in 177, 22, and 25 are all great squirrel killers. Stoeger Bullshark is almost exactly the same gun. They have not been problematic for me and all three are plenty accurate enough for squirrels. For shooting in my yard...

    Artemis P15 Owners?

I have not compared parts of my 177, 22, and 25 P35s to see if they are the same. My impression is that they are. And mostly the same as the P15 from what I read. You'd have to really, really want a P15 and not a P35 or Bullshark to rebarrel a 25 caliber P15 to 177, however. Why not just buy...

    N/A 1k budget. First PCP

I've killed 24 squirrels with my P35-177. I also have P35s in 22 and 25 and I like them but I think the 177 is best for backyard use because the pellets do not carry nearly as far. Still they can go about 400 yards if aimed up so you need to be careful but you need to be even more careful with...

A shout out to All Lefties...

I only shoot with my left hand because I am left eye dominant. Everything else I use my right hand if I can. My Caiman isn't bad but the mechanism noise is worse due to the magazine location. My P35s are great to shoot left handed because I want right hand cocking. Magazine is flush and open...

    30-Yard Challenge

Another tiny one more X improvement so I'm submitting it. This is another 191 but with 10Xs. I used my P35-177 with a Vector Sentinel scope set at 32X and shot H&N Baracuda FT pellets at about 915 fps. Same exact tune as sends the slightly heavier Match at 880 fps. This suggests to me that...

    Crosman pellets

My Prod is my only gun that shoots CPHP reasonably well and it shoots H&N FTT better. My P35-177 did well with the first tin of Crosman 10.5 domed but the next two were all over the place. It also prefers H&N Baracudas. H&Ns are not bad on price.

Filter to separate rubber mulch from pellets

I did another trap today and improved the screen with cardboard in the corners and I filled the bucket with the pellets with several inches of water. It worked pretty well. In about half an hour I had the pellets on the side burner in a pan to melt them. The mulch did not float but other...

Filter to separate rubber mulch from pellets

I've dumped the whole trap contents in water before and the rubber mulch sinks to the bottom. It is heavier than water. It helped separate things, however, because it would come off the bottom far easier than the pellets. But I'd rather not deal with all that mess of wet mulch with fragments...

    30-Yard Challenge

Well I did test different moderators but I don't think I see a difference. But I did get a couple more Xs so I am submitting this 191 9X for the leader board. I was using my P35-177 with my Vector Sentinel 8-32 set at 32X shooting H&N Baracuda Match pellets at about 880fps. Officially the...

Filter to separate rubber mulch from pellets

Ever since I started making pellet traps filled with rubber mulch I've been wanting a good quick way to separate the mulch from the pellets. I made an improvement today using plastic fencing that has 8mm openings. It's about the right size to let pellets through without letting significant...

    Opinions and Observations

I have a Caiman X I paid about $1400 for new, three P35s, an original Avenger, and a Prod (my first and I still like it). Based upon this limited experience I agree that the Caiman doesn't feel exactly like the others. It cocks more smoothly and I think the trigger is a bit more consistent...

    Raccoon Down

Close to 60 years ago I occasionally got to go "coon hunting" with my uncle near the town of Burlington Kansas. The mothers hated it, the kids (including me) loved it. My uncle tried to be sure everybody had a flashlight but only he or another uncle had a firearm (and nobody had a pellet gun)...

    30-Yard Challenge

I traced a period of lower accuracy than expected in my most dependable gun, my P35-22, to loose bolts holding the action to the stock. I was a bit surprised that made a difference. The moderator I use in my P35s go inside the shroud and are 3D printed. But I have some with different sized...

Air Venturi Like it, Love it, Hate it?! The Avenge-X

I agree ease of changing the regulator is a big advantage for the Avenger. It seems like the hammer spring has a pretty short range of adjustability, however. It is also a bit buried and thus a bit difficult to get to. But the key reason my original Avenger in 25 sits in the storage drawer...
