That lead was from the JTS pellets, JSB pellets don’t leave those long pieces, just some tiny sparkles. That was a Patchworm with the .22 bead in a .22 barrel.

I jumped from a Yong Heng to an Alkin. Had the GX C4 been available at the time, I would likely have bought that instead of the pricey Alkin. That said, I have zero regrets and feel relatively secure as far as expensive (compressed) air goes.

The hammer spring should be adjusted to just open the valve, plus a half turn. The hammer spring has very little effect on the velocity. Velocity is adjusted by reg pressure. In your case, the power is pre-set, and you can change velocity with ammo weight only.

You likely have the basic model with aluminum bottle and non adjustable regulator. You could buy the adjustable regulator from RTI, and change the bottle to a carbon fiber wrapped bottle. 970 fps is pretty hot, you may do well to try heavier pellets, such as JSB Monster lights at around 22...

If you still have the voice activated, the battery drains much more quickly. I’ve disabled the voice prompts and get much longer battery life.

I found the same thing in my Wildcat 3 Bt, it’s even more pronounced with pellets. I switched back to the stock probe.

My Alkin came with a female foster fitting on the end of their heavy duty fill hose. The heavy fill line is quite rigid and fairly short. Adding another, lighter hose allows me to more easily attach to my bottles, and puts less stress on the connections.

I use a microbore hose from Airtanks Plus with my Alkin, and have not experienced any issues. I would think that if your compressor output pressure spikes significantly above the bottle pressure while filling, that would indicate a restriction.

Make sure the regs are both turned up a bit before filling, I’ve filled after installing regs and had this happen. My reg was not adjusted in enough to seal at first, and I experienced a similar leak when filling.

I’d imagine the lead pellet will sheer before any damage is done to the brass port. Does the barrel spin at all? You may damage the rear transfer port o-ring if anything.
