The fill port O-ring #50 is a common source of leaking in SPA PCPs. It is too soft so it eventually extrudes into the gap formed by the flat on screw #51. Replace it with a 90 durometer. The OEM size is a M1.5x5 but a -008 works equally well in this application.

All the way in means maximum hammer spring tension, which is very likely causing the gun to waste air...meaning the reason shot count is poor.

BTW, if you have an assortment of O-rings and metal washers, it’s pretty easy to improvise a Dowty seal. O-ring slightly thicker than the washer. Drill or file the washer so it hugs the O-ring. Done.
