I can't remember ever doing a shot string on my Standards but that seems low. For comparison my Taipan Vet Short at 900fps with 16gr got 45 shots on reg. Throw in 18gr and your at 865fps for 30fpe and maybe gain a shot or 2 for efficiency gain...

I was going to say apples to oranges kind of comparison between guns. But I would have picked the Pathfinder as well for the simplicity.

100%. Highly unlikely it's a dirty barrel with such wild POI shifts but doesn't hurt to clean it. I'd follow what Jason said and check for loose screws. Clipping would be surprising to me especially if you haven't changed anything, they don't usually do that later on randomly especially a bonded...

As others stated I don't stress about that one bit. If it's around 15-20fps spread I'm good with that. Am I a BR shooter? Absolutely not. As a pester I've had no problems shooting out 100yds+. Wind has a larger affect than the ES does so that's what I focus on.

Agree 100% with Tim. I don't really like spending my own money but absolutely more than happy to spend others money for them! But honestly Taipans are just special guns.

Glad they were good in your Barra! Again so far all the guns I've tried them in I've been very happy with. Have tried quite a few in the past and same thing just not great. But these seem to just be a very good slug.

Problem with the rear bottle being that big is you'll add 3" to LOP from a 300cc to 480cc bottle. I'm guessing it will be way too long LOP.

The balanced valve is a definite downside to me as a hunter. Have heard of stiction issues with them so a no go for me. Don't like that it was essentially ripped off in some ways not only the Evol but Edgun with the reg. The Epic1 is something I'd be interested in though if it didn't have slow...

My .177 came tuned there out of the box. I have the short/standard version. But is very easy to adjust if need be. An overview by Sub12 very recently

If you did try a bunch of pellets then that's not looking good for the barrel. The rings aren't helpful. Maybe you can get a new Sub MOA as a replacement whenever those come out

Great trigger, CZ barrels, nice and compact, excellent regulators and lightweight. Cocking is forward for quick shots and balances extremely well for off hand shots and has a pic rail for adding an adapter for tripod if you'd like. I'm a big Taipan fan but the Vixen as a barn gun just works...

I was one who had issues tuning my Taipans down low. However I think what you'd like is a Vixen. At least I really love mine in .177. I have a Taipan Vet Long .22 set at 33fpe, Taipan Mutant Short .22 set at 20fpe and AGT Vixen .177 at 13fpe. It's such a great gun and is my barn gun.

My barrel was very much shiny but didn't lead up much. As for the AEA pellets I would try others also. Unfortunately besides my JTS 18gr pellets all other JTS and AEA pellets I've tried produce good results but with flyers. Could be ammo as well.
