N/A Which one is the must accurate air rifle with slugs at long range?

Just cruise through the ELR threads to get a good look at what's possible with the different platforms.

FX FX Impact M4: What o-ring material???

I just replaced those o'rings yesterday in my M4 that had the same warm up issues. Tuned for 980fps with 34grn slugs and sitting over night , I just shot 957, 972, and 980fps. I used these specially formulated ones from ebay. Not perfect but way better.

How to Use a Corbin S Press - A Thread Geared Toward Beginners

I've found that smaller diameter wire usually works best for BTs. It tends to fill the ends of the slugs first, then smashes out and fills in the rest of the slug if that makes sense. You might measure the back of the boat tail to see if it's smaller than .200 and if so, try .185. Another thing...

What diameter wire are you using?

How to Use a Corbin S Press - A Thread Geared Toward Beginners

I use the Corbin cutter. With the .210 I can get down to 31grns. If I flipped the nut over to get a little more travel before the stop screw bottoms out, I could probably shave off another 2-3 grains without interference with the cutter.

How to Use a Corbin S Press - A Thread Geared Toward Beginners

I would switch to .210 wire from Corbin. You should be able to get those down to 30-31ish grains with that wire. Works great with .22 and .25.

Presses - open for a debate

My Corbin press is almost effortless with .22 and .25. I can't even begin to count how many hundreds of thousands of slugs I've made with it and with zero issues.

How many AGN members make their own slugs

Getting a Corbin swaging setup was one of the best airgun decisions I've ever made. You can see a lot of my results in the ELR section.

ELR Fun day on the mountain.

I try to shoot ELR for a morning every weekend. This time of year gets a little tricky with trying to catch the weather right. Before too much longer snow will become an issue with shooting in the mountains. Worst case scenario, we shoot at our local range but it "only" goes out to 600 yards...

ELR Fun day on the mountain.

We had a great day on the mountain shooting ELR this weekend even though the conditions weren't that great. Last weekend, Long_Shot and I were fortunate enough to have some really good conditions that had us shaking our heads at how consistent and accurate we could hit small objects at 700...

    805 yards .25 FX M3, AbsoluteMOA/Ravin and Corbin slugs

Thank you. Great shooting on your part as well. There's a handful of capable ELR platforms out there but what has been lacking is a sighting system to keep up. I developed the Absolute MOA Digital Readout System and have been using it for a few years. I can shoot at any magnification through...

    805 yards .25 FX M3, AbsoluteMOA/Ravin and Corbin slugs

Well, I really blew it this time. I had one of the nicest/calmest mornings I could ask for when it comes to shooting ELR. I was sure to bring lots of ammo and was ready to have a great time sending some long range lead across the canyon. The only problem was that I somehow overlooked my air...

772 yards .25 FX M3, Absolute MOA/Ravin with Corbin slugs

Josephine County Sportsman's park is in Merlin. Not too far from Rogue River. They have a airgun club that shoots there but I believe it's indoor and or close range pellet shooting. There's only a couple of us crazy ELR airgun shooters that I know of that shoot there.

772 yards .25 FX M3, Absolute MOA/Ravin with Corbin slugs

You guys should consider the Josephine County Sportsman Park. There's a few ranges that go out to or passed 100 yards. The big bore range goes out to almost 600 yards. You can hang paper out to 300 yards but passed that, it's steel gongs. It can be a little expensive but the convenience of...

772 yards .25 FX M3, Absolute MOA/Ravin with Corbin slugs

Another beautiful morning here in Southern Oregon. The wind was light and varying slightly. When I first got there the prevailing wind was coming from the right but as the sun came up and warmed things, the thermals started to blow up the canyon from the left. Probably the trickiest part of...

755 yards .25 M3, Absolute MOA/Ravin, Corbin Slugs with some wind.

Yeah, the price of admission hurts but if you really enjoy shooting often it can pay for it's self within a couple years. The big plus is you will be making match grade ammo that doesn't get beat up in shipping.

I would highly suggest going with Corbin if you're serious about swaging. They have been doing it since the 70s. There's been a few threads lately about other manufacturers that haven't ended well. I've literally ran hundreds of pounds of lead through my Corbin press with zero issues. If I...
