JSB Pellets - Ordering different pellet diameters

Looking more closely at the offerings on the www.jsbdiablo.com website, I noticed that there were dropdowns for the head diameter of the 5.5 (.22cal) Exact Jumbo pellets. Under that dropdown, I found there were 5.500, 5.510, and 5.520 diameters available. Weights were 1.030g for all. I receive...

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

Because I believe you get what you pay for, I would probably believe the weight from McC is more accurate. Just sayin' But again, I probably care more about keeping the scale consistent than making sure it's measuring 2.000 grams as 2.008 grams. <grin>

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

Thank you for that link! A few months ago I was looking for small calibration weidhts (1, 2, and 5 grams) for a friend, and struck out. These are perfect for us small caliber shooters....

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

I appreciate your response. Please note that I'm not advocating weighing pellets only to shoot closely matched weights, but also as a way to remove outliers. In fact, I'm not advocating weighing pellets for anyone except myself. What I'm saying is "If you're going to do it, understand what...

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

Also, if you are shooting with consistent weight pellets, and measuring muzzle velocity and finding significant variations in fps, you have a solid basis from which you can start looking at your regulator or even your (gasp) chronograph. My goal is to eliminate other inconsistencies so that the...

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

I agree that the actual weight isn't the issue, it's the variation. It seems to make a bit of a difference at 100 yards. I usually use the tare feature, picking a "standard" pellet, and comparing all other to that reference. I'm really nutty about repeatability, hysteresis, and precision because...

Regarding weighing pellets - The scale matters.....

Here are my thoughts on the scales and methods used to weigh pellets. We should focus on three key aspects: **Accuracy** - Is the measurement correct when the scale indicates that a pellet weighs 1.175 grams? Is it necessary for us? Alternatively, are we more concerned about consistency so...

RAW Rapid Sekhmet gauge for HM1000x - Dimensional issue!

And you are 100% correct about the dowty seal, and the teflon tape. Lots of folks don't know the difference between the two types of threads.

RAW Rapid Sekhmet gauge for HM1000x - Dimensional issue!

Not at all! This revised product has just become available, and a lot of us with RAW rifles have had an issue where the nipple is too long, and as a result, cannot be installed far enough to allow the o-ring to compress sufficiently to seal. And if I only commented on things I was sure of, I...

RAW Rapid Sekhmet gauge for HM1000x - Dimensional issue!

The updated gauges which have the shortened nipple, have new instructions which specify NOT using the dowty washer, but instead use the o-ring.

RAW Rapid Sekhmet gauge for HM1000x - Dimensional issue!

I agree. The little “bellow” inside the gauge gets distorted and can’t recover.

N/A What's this about "cold barrels?"

I posted this question in response to a few people talking about the first shot out of a cold barrel, seeming to imply that the POI would shift as the barrel warmed up. Or am I missing the point? (I often do......) " Kinda new to all of this, but I do have a question. Considering that we are...

Tip for installing o-rings onto threaded objects

That’s a great idea. And a lot easier to slide on and pull off then trying to get Teflon tape to behave.

Tip for installing o-rings onto threaded objects

ReplyElectrical tape does work, but the guy who told me about using tape said that with Teflon tape there's no danger of residue left behind.

Tip for installing o-rings onto threaded objects

When recently installing a new bottle o-ring on my RAW HM1000x, I was concerned about damaging the o-ring when rolling over the sharp threads. I used an old Harley Davidson trick of applying a couple of wraps of Teflon sealing tape over the threads. Lightly lubed the o-ring and slid it on...

Larger capacity bottle for RAW HM1000x

Hi, I'm looking to replace my stock bottle with something larger. Could someone make a recommendation? Will I have to purchase an adapter? I know that Bagnall and Kirkwood in the UK have a variety of bottles available, but they wouldn't help with a recommendation. I think it's a liability...
