I started with an FWB 124 in 1978, did a short stent into PCP but never liked messing with HPA so I'm now back to only springers and a couple of Crosman pump-ups. An R7 can go through a lot of pellets in a day with little effort.

The 98 is just an 95 in a different stock and a barrel weight. I had and sold one that was shooting 7.9 gr. pellets at 915 stock. I shot several 3/8" groups with it at 50 yards. There was some spring noise but the weight really tamed it.

There was a time I could make that starling distress call and it worked extremely well when they had young in the nest, but now with upper dentures I can't even whistle.

I just finished putting the first tin of 500 pellets through the new R9. Now to open it up and relube it to get rid of the spring noise and vibration.

Being as it is from the Robert Beeman collection, I might go $450.

I grew up with a single shot .22lr and a bolt action .410 shotgun. All my rifles now are single shot, spring piston and pump up air rifles and Thompson/Center powder burners. Not have a quick second shot has made me much more inclined to take a good shot.
