If you fly and are checking in a rifle, air or powder burner, use padlocks that require key in lock until lock is latched. I have had to cut off combination locks latched by TSA. When using padlocks, use locks with different keys if you cannot acquire padlocks that require key in lock until...
From my experience flying out of Alaska you need a good hard TSA approved case fitted to your rifle. Use non TSA keyed padlocks and provide TSA only one key to unlock case. Watch TSA inspect the rifle and lock case and return key to you. I recommend rifle be fitted in case with scope up so when...
We live in rural S E Oklahoma with Oak and Pine trees on the property. Several years ago a Gray squirrel shorted out a transformer by chewing on a 220 Volt incoming power line to my house. I was informed by the lineman who made the repair that it was a common occurrence. This was the second...
I will need to replace or rebuild the oem valves on several Interspiro bottles in the near future. What are the better options and sources? What not to do? Thanks db
Where would I find OEM replacement valves? Where could I have OEM valves rebuilt? I have several Interspiro bottles with OEM I would like to rebuild/replace. Thanks, db
Latest on DAR: I pulled barrel, cleaned and inspected breech, transfer port, muzzle/crown and barrel as best I could. Found a burr on breech side of transfer port and a rough lead in to bore. Tried to clean up burr with grinding compound & fine wet/dry paper. Also cleaned bore again. Still get a...
Progress on DAR: have removed baffles and shroud and shot several different pellet groups. Best to date is with Crosman premier domed 10.5 gr. Ten shot group < 1 inch @ 15 meters, Pics attached.
Chronograph numbers for .177 cal DAR. using JSB 10.34 gr pellets, 883.6, 881.0, 888.5, 888.5, 888.5, 890.8, 888.5, 899.3, 899.3, 889.2, in feet per sec.The JSB 10.34 are the heaviest I have on hand.
I have owned this rifle since new. Will run a few rounds through chronograph as I can't find my notes. When I first started shooting this rifle it didn't group well but though time would help it break in. I like the rifle, but haven't shot it lately. Will post chronograph numbers tomorrow. thanks db
I have tried several different pellets and can't get any groups less than 1.5 in at 15 meters. I have cleaned the barrel, ran shots through chronograph to check regulator performance and found nothing obvious. Have other DAR owners had this problem? Comments, suggestions? Thanks
Brian at Veradium Air has experience with the Carette V 33 compressor. After I discussed the Carette V 33 with Brian I was thinking of buying one. I called up the dealer in California and was quoted $2000 for compressor & $ 400. for shipping to Oklahoma. At the time the Carette V 33 was listed...
I have had a similar experence with an Edgun in .25 cal. I used a 3/16 th wood bit, 14 inches long. Put several wraps of eletrical tape near cutting end and a inch or so apart to prevent steel bit from hitting the barrel. With the barrel removed from action, turned bit by hand to cut into lead...
Is your Carrette compressor a liquid cooled unit or the newer air cooled unit? The newer air cooled only,, V 33 is what I am requesting user feedback on. Thank you for all your comments. [email protected] is my contact for...
HI, I have spent all of my life in Alaska, Kodiak, Anchorage, Prince William Sound. Now live in SE Oklahoma. I'm much more concerned about Moose, Black Bears & Brown Bears and Humans than I would be cats. You can have problems with any wild life but cats by nature are reclusive and will stay so...
Some recommendations on fitting guns in hard cases. Fit rifles with scope up towards handle so when it is dropped the scope is " up ". Fit rifle tightly in foam or add foam if needed. Use keyed locks, preferably the type that must stay in lock when unlocked. Do not use combination locks! In...
Thanks for suggesting removing the shroud nervoustrig, tried that with some shifting of group but no improvement overall. IIRC, JSB 10.3 pellets were in the high 800 fps range. Can't find my notes. Will run rifle over chronograph again soon, Took shroud off, inspected baffles, chucked them up in...
I have a new DAR in .177 cal that will not group well. ( Using JSB 10.3 grain pellets.) I have shot several hundred pellets through the rifle, cleaned the barrel, checked the baffles for clipping with no visible lead transfer noticed. Hand fed several 5 shot groups to see if the magazines were...
