I have a newer Beeman R7 that I'd be interested in having it tuned in the manor you described. What kind of velocity does it shoot post tune up ?

I think you're confusing the FWB 300 with the 124. No way $350-$400 for the FWB 300. Maybe non functioning and for parts only.

Did you do any size fitting on the piston seal ?

Depending on how the seal sits on the piston it looks like the Vortek has a deeper valley which may eliminate the piston slam marks.

Because of shoulder issues I've decided to sell my FWB 124D. Bought it a couple years ago from member ChuckHunter. I have replaced the barrel pivot screw & pivot set screw, breech seal and True Oiled the stock to correct steam damage from someone trying to lessen a dent..See Right side butt...

That of course would be true IF he were at work ! But then the possibility of him seeing it after work or relayed to him from a third party is also possible.

I think you might find the AA's just as accurate. And in both my R7 and FWB 124D they shoot consistently 10 fps higher. And that is for all weights.....7.33....7.89...and the 8.44 gr.

Well stated ! Have you tried the 7.33 gr AA Falcons ? Accurate as well as a 10 fps gain in my R7.

Some questions. What pellet were you using and what elevation are you at ?

Just shot my R7 a couple days ago over my chronograph and 7.33 gr JSB averaged 688 fps. I wouldn't hesitate taking a squirrel with it at 30 ft with a head shot. Emphasis on 30 ft and head shot !! But NO !... The HW 30 (R7) isn't a overall good choice for squirrels.

Another point to bring up regarding àirgun manufacturers velocity claims are these two words...." up to " **** fps.

I'd bet it won't even achieve 925 fps.

Most every airgun ( break barrel) I've owned shot right at rated velocity.

That kind of velocity must be with light weight alloy pellets. I seriously doubt it will launch 8-10 gr lead pellets @ 1200fps.

I made mine with a small pencil tapered reamer on a SouthBend lathe. I made this sizer years ago.
