I have had great luck with the FX branded JSB Pellets in all my guns. Cheaper than the JSB but from same factory. 18.1 is a good weight to start with .

It is my favorite gun. I shoot it almost every day. The balance is perfect. I actually prefer it to my standard. I have heard that you truly don't own a gun till you have shot it a thousand times. Well I own this one a couple times over. It is one that will never leave.

There are a few videos that show regulator adjustment on the OG Veteran. These should give you all the confidence that you need. The Veteran is super easy to work on.
