So what’s the deal with these? I know a few shooters had them at RMAC. One (Justin Welch- 6th) in the top ten as far as I know. Not much published as of today. What is so “Precision” about them? Anyone?

Filtering the input is 0.3% as effective as filtering the outlet. The only thing an input filter is good for is filtering out particulate to protect the interior of the compressor.

Do we really need to put down 100Y BR comps like RMAC, EBR and PAC. To each his own, but really? Different strokes for different folks. 😉 I’m pretty sure everyone doesn’t know, especially the 200 shooters that show up at those comps.

We’re about to see. RMAC starts tomorrow. EBR is in October. IMHO those are the only two “majors”. There are “minors” such as PAC and Oregon, but neither draw the equivalent level of competition as the “majors”.

Could be done and has been done are two totally different things.

I think we can look back RMAC and EBR 2022 to 2024, and conclude that NONE of the winners were even remotely close to stock off the shelf.

The same can be said for ammo, specifically .30 pellets. What does “mass produced commercially available” really mean? How many is “mass produced?” Commercially available where? In a foreign country that the USA has an embargo with? I think the big comps just take someone’s word for it...

Ok, I agree. It’d be the same as if someone bought a Skout with an upgraded LW or ECR barrel, or even with an FX liner, as long as they bought it from a dealer or from Skout.

The Sonoran is a great gun, and SubMOA barrels are great barrels, but does it really count as “off the shelf” if the gun was upgraded at AoA with a SubMOA barrel and .30 caliber specific porting and tune?

I’m throwing this out there for discussion. Can you buy an off the shelf gun and compete at RMAC or EBR with a reasonably good expectation of doing well? No accessory barrels, etc. just a normal set of adjustments to get the gun shooting at the proper speed for the pellets of your choice...

The gun has more than enough power that the rocket boosters aren’t really necessary. Especially for pellets. My .30 cal TAC does not need additional power. I’d also recommend the 23 inch barrel in .30 cal instead of the 28 inch.

This is how I shoot EFT and Benchrest. Thumb up takes the “grip” out of play and minimizes the gun movement when pulling the trigger.
